Looking to get a better understanding of how exchanges work. Although I have some limited access to RCI - through my DVC I have never used it. I never seem to have enough points to use let alone deposit. DVC also blocks exchanges, extra vacations, & last calls into the Orlando area.

I recently started eBay purchase of Wyndham points 2 deeded and one CWA all very very small. - With these, while i have no intenotion of exchanging/trading at the momen, i am curious on how the process work. To be 100% honest I can’t even begin to ask questions about if it’s of any value to my family’s vacation needs, if I have no idea how it works.

We have also been offered a contract from a family member that can no longer wants travel. This contract is for Orange Lake 2br week 12. Personally I am not a huge fan of fixed weeks and we tend to travel to Orlando area most often during October. I would only have interest in this unit as a trader…but again without knowing how it all works I cannot make a decision

would love it if you guys can point me in the right direction- from what I read in the sticky it seemed to be more about owning RCI rather than exchanges and particularly companies.

Again looking for just the basics.

Wouldn’t say never- but trying to branch out a bit to other areas…I have a tendency to head to Orlando a lot - we have the DVC and are AP holders at WDW & USO- Wyndham has a decent amount in Orlando…

but we are planning at least one trip to California (Hollywood area) and if it all possible some, if Covid lets up international-

There are some great RCI point ownerships outside of Orlando which would be great for you. One thing to mention, if you buy an RCI points ownership (non Wyndham) that is deeded 30 miles from Disney, you couldn’t use the points to book any DVC reservations in RCI. Having RCI points could be a nice addition to your current DVC points. It gives the flexibility of adding to your DVC usage or points for other locations.

I would never use my DVC points (if I owned any) to exchange in RCI. So having another ownership to use within RCI is an ideal choice. Another option is expanding to Interval. Look into Marriott or Vistana weeks. You can get great usage from a Marriott trader. I feel like the getaways and extra vacation certificates in Interval are much better than RCI, in terms of both price and resort quality.
