Stopped by Barony today to read by the pool while waiting on friends to join us for dinner. Workers were all busy at both the Garden and Beach pools. They were redoing the beach pool and working on the new bar-restaurant building. Everything will really be nice when they finish. Signs say finishing by May 1. We couldn't see much at the Garden villas but looked like folks were busily working. Beautiful weather this week. After almost 8 years, I'm still amazed that I live here.

Thanks for the update. We will be there in July. The resort just keeps getting better.

Has the marketplace changed at all? Other resorts are reporting a downscaling of the marketplace. This might not be such a bad thing as my family spends way to much in the market!!

Didn't walk through it. We don't buy anything in the marketplace unless they have refillable cups and we are going to be at the resort more than a week. We own lots of timeshares and travel often. To be able to do this, we limit our spending on food and drinks. We keep plenty of food in the unit and we aren't drinkers. Our bill at the resort is usually less than $25.

Thanks for the update. When we were at Barony a few months ago the Pizza Hut was still at the Marketplace. I do not remember if any changes had been made since we where there previously. The Marketplace was in the same location.

I believe Grande Ocean rearranged things in there Marketplace and had less groceries the last time we where there. Same location less variety. Not sure if Barony did the same?

Call me cheap if you like, but I haven't bought a drink at a restaurant (fast food or otherwise) in over 20 years. I just ask for water. Assume for sake of discussion only $5 per week and that adds up to over $5,000!!
