I received a letter today indicating that, starting in January, BankDirect is charging $12 a month for their AA mileage checking accounts. Did anyone else receive this? I am trying to decide if I will bail on this account since I have exhausted all the special AA bonuses such as 1 year of using the billpay service. I do keep the minimum of $2500 in the account to get the monthly 250 miles. The additional benefit I receive is the $2.50 reimbursement for ATM withdrawls and no foreign transaction charge for ATM withdrawls in foreign countries. With 4 trips a year outside the US, that can add up. Does anyone have any other thoughts on them? Thanks.
