We just got back from Orlando and after we checked out of Disney's Old Key West resort, we stayed the weekend in a 1 bedroom at Sheraton Vistana. The unit looked brand new and nice. I would think it was probably around 600 square feet, perfect size for a couple. It definitely was better than staying in a DVC studio, as those are only around 350 square feet and don't have a separate bedroom from the living room.

I thought Vistana's grounds were lovely. We usually always stay DVC or Marriott, but wanted to try something different for the weekend. The resort is quite lovely.

Nice to hear something positive--thanks! I own a Cascades unit, and will be going there for the first time next year. Any opinion on whether I should request Lakes or Cascades? I know that the Lakes units are already redone, while Cascades probably won't be when I get there, so I'm looking more at the grounds/location/amenities of the two sections. It looked to me like Cascades was more centrally located.

Glorian,

Cascades units were more centrally located. But, Lakes had two nice pools - one more of a quiet pool with zero entry and the larger pool close by with more action going on. We enjoyed our stay in the Lakes section.

I think I would like Cascades, too, though. I peeked in the window of a Cascades unit and it looked like the cabinets were white - which I actually like better than the dark furniture/cabinets/granite counters that the Sheratons seem to be going to. Too bad the Cascades section can't keep their light cabinets, but I guess the dark look is the thing now.

Our Lakes unit was a little dark (cave like). But I think it's because of the dark woodsy decor.

Also, I've heard Cascades have two sizes of 1 bedrooms. If you're going for a 1 bedroom and can get the bigger unit, I'd go for Cascades for the space. If you'll get the smaller one bedroom in Cascades, then I'd opt for Lakes.

Thanks for the info! We'll be in a 2 bedroom non-LO. Sounds like either section will be fine.
