We just got our new Interval World magazine and see there is a new affiliation with Azul Fives in Playa. Does anyone know anything about that resort?

It also says it has an all inclusive package that must be paid for in advance. I assume one would trade in through II and then pay some fee for the all inclusive ???

Thanks

Steve

I think it is $125 per day per person all inclusive fee. This fee would be paid to the resort. Too rich for my blood.

Does one have to participate in the AI, or is it optional ?

Thanks

We toured the place last winter. It is a condo-hotel. You can buy full time for around $400K or you can rent a unit and stay for a week. If you buy, they will try to rent your unit while you are not using it, thus the timeshare involvement. If you simply rent, or trade for the week you must buy into the AI. If you are only 2 people they will give you a hotel room, if you are 4 they offer a 1 bedroom and if you are 6 you receive a 2 bedroom. It is about a 20 minute walk into Playa by the beach, or a short taxi ride. I would never buy into the AI, especially in Playa where there are 100s of good restaurants and many very central grocery stores..

I would not be interested in buying, but I would be interested in trading into it (and I assume then one would have a choice of what size unit you would accept as a trade). We have stayed at the Royal Haciendas before and have walked along the beach to Playa. Is the Azul between the RH and Playa or is it on the other side of Playa?

Thanks

Steve

OK, so why didn't I think to do that :wall:

Thanks...and I guess that requirement means we won't be trying to trade into that resort

Neither .. it's in the opposite direction, it's immediately north of the RHs.
