I am just about to purchase a Barony Beach Platinum Oceanside unit for $9,000. I'm super excited. We love HHI and it's been a real source of stress for me to get a summer week, so this is just great!

Congrats on your purchase but I would suggest editing out the veiled sales offer before your post is deleted by a moderator. There is a classified section where you can place a for sale ad if you want to sell one of your weeks, and I believe you even get a free listing if you join Tug for the year.

Revised accordingly. :)

So the sale is moving along nicely. Title company got in touch with me today and assured me that they are working diligently to get closing docs to me next week!

This is so cool. The seller kindly "sold" me his week for 50% of his maintenance fee. Ironically, it's the same week I had already reserved for GO, so my family is going to stay at Barony and some friends of ours are going to stay at GO!!

The other thing that's nice is that I can cancel my II membership (for a little while anyway) as we'll be going to the places we own for the next several years and then we'll start thinking about trading again after that.

Anyone think that this will sale won't make it through Marriott's ROFR? I wouldn't think so, it's not super duper crazy cheap, just a great price as compared to original purchase price.

BTW, what was the original/developer cost of a platinum, ocean side week at Barony? Anyone know?

Not to sound funny, but it varied over time. I think I have somewhere most of the pricing.. Started out in 1999 or 2000 around 19K(?) and then by 2001 hit 26K, and then peaked somewhere in 2005/6 - 30K(?) .

The 2001 number is spot on, the others I interpolated without looking at my docs I've saved.
