Greetings!
I just purchased a Hyatt Vacation Club membership at the Ranahan in Breckenridge and am debating whether I should keep it.
Cost 16K for 120K points every other year plus 160K bonus points..-$1,700 maintenance fee every other year.
Can you please share your experience about ease of booking/exchanging for a week during ski season (March) with this package in CO or Utah resorts. Are there any alternatives to get a week, only have RCI and there is close to zero availability.
I have zero experience with Hyatt and Interval International.
Thank you!
Angelique

Hyatt has two different point systems, you bought the old Welk. Those are free on ebay, some are probably listed on TUG for free.

You should most definitely rescind.

Rescind ASAP @Angelique before your time runs out to rescind...

Thank you to everyone for your responses.

I have faxed my cancellation letter to fax provided in instructions to cancel. called the number in San Marcos to follow-up and always get voicemail. I’ve sent an express priority mail requesting signature that should arrive within the 5 days cancellation period. Anyone have a recommendation as to what else to do to ensure I am not stuck with this contract?

I always thought of Hyatt being a respectable brand, but am learning rapidly that once you get caught in the web of timeshare, their intent is to make it impossible for you to get out.

As long as you follow the directions on the contract, you are good. At the minimum, your letter should include:
The name, signature, and date of everyone who signed the original contract
The name of the resort or points system you bought including the contract number.
Timeshares are not necessarily bad if you know what you buy, you buy it at the right price, and you are able to maximize the use of the product. Unfortunately, you were dealing with the sales team who generally are only interested in maximizing their commission and will do anything to get there.

It doesn’t matter when they get it—only that you can prove you sent it within the five days. It may take up to 45 days to process, but Hyatt won’t mess around with that. Now you just have to wait.

Bookability or trading Hyatt resorts during ski season in Utah and Colorado may be restricted because of peak demand. High-end resorts such as Beaver Creek, Aspen, Park City, and Vail fill up fast, particularly for the high winter season. To increase chances, book early, are flexible with dates, and inquire about waitlist availability on Hyatt Vacation Club or Interval International.
