Has anyone received a call about this? I've received several. The message says it's related to the infrastructure bill. Supposedly you can "extend your auto warranty at a significant discount."

Personally I would never buy an extended warranty as I lease my cars. But, it sounds like a scam to me.

I get these annoying calls daily, despite blocking each phone # they spoof.
--------------------------
I heard somewhere that the 2nd phone call ever made was to Alexander G. Bell.
He picked up thinking Watson was on the line. Instead, he heard a recording:
"Our records show that your car warranty is about to expire."

That and 'since you traveled with [insert company here] have we got a deal for you'.

Any of these "companies" can disappear through bankruptcy if their losses exceed their income (minus PROFIT and expenses).

We have no view as to WHAT those expenses are. They are backed by NOTHING.

I get phone calls and letters not to mention the cornball ads on tv for these things. Everyone of them is a scam one way or another.

Cheers

I opened this thread because the thread title suggested that the OP might have found a way to get relief from these constant, annoying phone calls. Too bad.

Appreciate all your replies.

I opened this thread because I thought it was unique. I also get extended car warranty calls all the time. But, this one is a bit unique. It brings up the recently passed infrastructure bill and claims the offer is tied to a portion of that bill. I expect there will be people who think this is plausible and go for it.

My deceased aunt of three (3) years ago is still receiving these junk mail notices in the mail. Her Volvo (green tank) was sold for parts before she passed away.

Just a new spin on the same scam. They use recent events to make it sound more legitimate so people fall for it. And people still fall for it.

First of all, the "new infrastructure bill" has not been passed yet.

My prediction for the next scam: "Are you annoyed with calls about your car's extended warranty? We can make them stop! Just a small upfront fee ...."

The only way to really block these calls is to setup a global block to block anyone not on your contact list. Blocking the numbers that show up on caller ID is useless and futile. You are just blocking some person's real phone number.
