Will be staying at Aulani for the first time (family of four, two teenage boys). We have a one bedroom ocean view confirmed. Any suggestions and what request I should put in with member services? I read also some rooms have a luau view? Thanks in advance!

Request the 50 stack as that overlooks the luau and has larger rooms and balconies. They straight balconies instead of the angled balconies. Angled balconies take up part of the villas square footage unlike the straight balconies.

Just before the pandemic, we stayed in room 1277 which was an island view that had the luau view and enjoyed it very much. It saved us lot of points too.

Is that the Ewa tower or does it even matter?

Yes 50 stack is in the Ewa tower. But it does not matter as the stacks are exclusive to their respective towers.

Our trips there were 2012 and 2013. I guess we were not in the Ewa tower for out first trip ocean view. Our deck was angled and not really a great ocean view. Second trip was island view that had the Luau view and also some ocean in the Ewa tower, but I think the Luau was relocated again. They had a wonderful adults only pool which they just recently made into yet another family pool. But I understand they still have the adult only infinity two level hot tub. A great spot to watch the sun set. Also if you rent a car, DVC members get free parking at the resort (but that may have changed). It’s such a nice quiet spot away from all the busy stuff In Honolulu.

I always forget to add “staying on points” because we always are “staying on points” . Don’t think I can afford rack rates at any of their resorts.
