My friends want to take a cruise to Bermuda in August. While doing some research, I discovered that it rains 19 out of 31 days.

Here's the question. In general - are the 19 days of rain "full days of rain" or are they more the "20 minute late-afternoon rain then sunshine" type of rainy days.

It's been a few years, but we did the Celebrity cruise from NYC to Bermuda, it was terrific. The weather was great, hot, but great. A little rain, tropical, more in the "20 minute late-afternoon" category. Similar to what you get in the Carolinas that time of year, as Bermuda is off the Carolina coast. Maybe you can find more of an expert here, but I wouldn't hesitate to go again in August. The nice thing about a cruise to Bermuda is you get to spend at least 4 days docked in Bermuda (though most ships move from one end of the island to another). Of course there is always the exception year (one year we had a solid week of all day rain in Hilton Head), but imho it's still worth going.
