Attempt downgrade at DVC Saratoga springs from (2) 1 BR villas to 2 BR lockoff

I wonder if this is possible? Exchange into (2) 1 BR villas at SSR and contact Disney in an attempt to "downgrade" 2nd 1BR for conversion to a 2 BR lockoff?
Once I get a 1 BR villa that cancels a future lockoff reservation for someone else and it just becomes a studio, so it would really be downgrading a 1 BR villa for a studio.

Thoughts?

Yeah, it won’t work. You get what they deposit.

The studios are very popular with DVC members booking directly using their Disney Vacation Club points. 1 bedrooms are the last thing that books up. Hence why they show up in RCI for exchange.

It was a good try though :) As a rule of thumb, when exchanging you get what you get.

Zero even with dvc points. Computer generated units. you can rent a studio and ask to be in a combined unit. Not guaranteed but dvc tries to accommodate. Make sure to call to put in notes the request.

I have reserved a standard Saratoga studio in the past booked with our DVC points and asked if they could assign the 1 bedroom RCI exchange next door to the studio and the front desk was able to accomplish that. But if the exchange had been preferred view it would not have worked. There is never a guarantee, though. I only tried it knowing that our party was all adults and if we ended up with units in separate buildings it wouldn’t matter.
