Still learning the Hyatt system and managed to make a 9-night LCUP reservation at HKB no doubt possible due to covid travel reluctance/cancellations. However, I had to piece together two reservations: a 2-night stay + a 7-night stay. There didn't seem to be an option to book a single 9-night stay. Is this typical or did I miss something in the reservation process? Appreciate any insight on this.

I paid the two reservation fees but thought it unnecessary. I requested an ocean view room for the entirety of our stay, but they moved us between reservations. They initially had us in an island view room for two nights and then moved us to a 4th floor ocean view, ADA room. I'm glad we didn't end up in an ocean-facing villa with a palm tree view. Not sure whom they would assign to those rooms or if they have plans to take those trees down to open the view to the ocean. Parking is free but it seems you have to valet park. I personally prefer self parking. Beautiful resort with access to the Hyatt Regency next door. It's also great to have less crowds at what is usually a busy time.

Despite the minor inconveniences, I'm grateful to have made this reservation which I realize would otherwise be very difficult to make under normal conditions.

Is this typical

Yes - 7 nights max in HRC. I'm surprised you got an ocean view. There are so few 1 bedrooms that mostly the ocean views go to the owners of the week. Points reservations are typically given the mountain view.

All 2 bed and 3 bed are ocean view- that's one thing I love about HKB

Thanks for the information. I am grateful we get to stay in an ocean view room for most of our stay. We spend a good deal of time on the lanai.

Typically if they can, they will keep you in the same room. There must have been no other option.

The only issue with the 4th floor room is there is no soaking tub. With no hot tubs that is more important. Ocean view though is the priority
