I am 4 days in my 2 week stay at Grande Vista (my third visit). Everything has been perfect up to tonight. You might recall a previous post of mine where I had read some really terrible reviews on TA about this resort that caused me concerns. I am happy to report that there was absolutely no basis for those negative reviews. The property is gorgeous, the staff and service has been excellent.
Tonight, on my way back to my room after attending a comedy show and “boozy bingo”, I stopped by the pool to watch the football game that was being broadcasted on the large screen TV. If you are familiar with Grande Vista, you know what I am talking about.
There was a group of people in the pool along with their child, possibly 3 or 4 years old, who were highly intoxicated. Their behavior and vile language was extremely offensive. They were screaming at each other and exchanging obscenities. The phrase MF was used extensively. I am a no nonsense person and will not tolerate such disgusting behavior so I got up and went looking for security. Two security guards and what appeared to be a manager came out and went directly to speak with the family. I couldn’t hear what was said but one of the security guard afterwards came up to me and said the matter had been addressed and a warning had been issued . And with that, they left. The family stayed in the pool and continued their shouting and dropping the F bomb until they left the premises about 20 minutes later.
I am astonished that this kind of vile behavior is tolerated at a Marriott property. I feel that I, along with every other owner who pays top dollars to vacation at a premium property should not be subjected to such indecent behavior.
Something else that bothered me is that people who witnessed this just sat by shaking their heads but no one, other than me, thought of reporting them.
I don’t know who I am most upset at, Marriott staff or, sadly, us as a society. Just needed to vent.
