I'd be happy to answer any questions. I'm here until Saturday and it is the wonderful resort everyone loves. I'm in building 53 (as requested) and enjoying a refurbed unit. It looks like all the outside furniture has been replaced as well as the decking. They keep this place in tiptop shape.:hi:

Hey, we're neighbors!

We checked in last night and we're in building 53 as well. I did not get exactly the unit I requested. Wanted building 53 or 65 on a high floor. I called to confirm yesterday, reminding them I was checking in a little late and to please not give my requested room to someone else. When I got here, I was given 53 on the 1st floor, or if I wanted a high floor, I could have 63. I decided that being near the pool/hot tub was more important than the high floor.

I haven't been here before, so I can't compare how the furniture used to be, but it looks nice, the kitchen looks new. I don't think our patio furniture is new, there are a few marks on the table, but it isn't at all shabby. The patio is a little small actually, especially with the table and 4 chairs out there.

I want to highly recommned the restaurant we went to last night. We drove past the bazillions of chain places along International Drive to find Nile Ethiopian Restaurant. It is at 7040 International Dr. in a strip mall perpendicular to the road, so you won't see it from the street. It is next to the Howard Johnsons. I bought a $10 GC on restaurant.com for $1 back in August, now it's there for $3, but still worth it, as the place is excellent. As good or better than every Ethiopian place we've been to in NYC or DC.

It's 22 degrees with lots of snow on the ground here in Massachusetts. So I'm envious of all of you!

Have a great time.

Don't be too envious, it was pretty chilly here today. Not pool weather.

counting down to April

We just purchased at Cypress Harbour a few months ago (resale, of course). Our first trip is this April and I can't wait. Please fill me in on any tips or things not to miss upon your return!

Going there in June. Have you been to the MAZE? I was wondering if it is like the one at Grand Vista? Is there an insides jungle gym system?

Thanks and have fun!

If anyone is going to be at Cypress Harbour next week, I may end up with some leftover restaurant.com GCs that I paid for but won't get to use. I also have 2 3-day Iride trolly passes that won't get used (came with Go Orlando Card, but we've just used our rental car). If you would like them, email me your name (the one the reservation is under) and check in date and I'll leave them for you when I check out.

I-Ride Trolly Passes

rsnash

We are at Wyndham Bonnet Creek until Jan 30
& would love to have your I-Ride Trolly Passes
that you are not using. We can stop by and
pick them up or you can come over & drop
them off (and see our beautiful resort).

Hi,
I'm staying at Horizons across the street from Cypress Harbour. Do you know if it is possible to tour Cypress Harbour if I'm staying at a sister resort? Thanks Jim

Hi,

Depends on what you mean by tour - whether that means just walking the property and seeing the common areas or getting a look at a room. When we've stayed at Cypress Harbour we've walked over to Horizons just to look around. When at HGVC SeaWorld several years ago my wife and I walked over to Cypress Harbour every day and walked all through the resort for our morning walk. So, if you're just interested in getting to know the resort, I'd suggest that you just walk across the road to Cypress Harbour and just walk by the guard (wave if you really want to). No one has ever stopped us at any resort whether we're staying at one or not when we've walked onto the property and I don't recall anyone ever asking if we were guests. But if they do ask you I'd suggest that you just tell them where you're staying and that you want to look around the resort.

Our daughter is staying at Cypress Harbour too this week on a 2 for 1 exchange special we got from Interval. She's in Building 52 on the third floor. We requested Building 53 third floor, but this is just as great a location. She is close to the Marketplace, main pool, check in, etc.

So far she loves the place, but according to her she still likes Grande Vista (our home resort) a little better. It was 80 degrees on Sunday (11th) when they arrived, but the weather has gotten cooler this week (low 60's) with a day or two of rain. Still better that up here in NJ where it's 4 degrees!
I'm hoping she's taking lots of pictures so we can judge the place for ourselves and decide if we ever want to trade in one year.

Even though we're experiencing a cold snap here in Orlando, the sun is shining and I'm wearing sandals instead of boots. AND there is no prediction of snow and ice! Life is good.

BTW, Rachel, I am in unit 5325. Nice unit, good view, great location.

We're heading to Cypress Harbour in April and I am counting down the days. Especially since the air temperature here in Chicago is currently MINUS 26 DEGREES!! The wind chill is over 40 below!!:(
