My family and I will be at the Surf Club on Sunday 11/30. I have some last minute questions. Should I pack beach towels? Anyone know how much it is to rent snorkel equipment at Baby Beach?
Is anyone else going to be there at this time? I would love to meet some fellow tuggers.

No need to pack beach towels...the Surf Club provides 8 to a 2 bedroom unit; 4 for a 1 bedroom. You can take them down to the towel hut daily to get fresh ones.

Don't know about renting snorkel equipment as we always take our own.

Have a great time in Aruba. It's one of our favorite places we go every year for 2 weeks.

Enjoy - I have lots of pics and restaurant suggestions on my picture trail if you're interested. We take our own snorkel equipment. Plenty of towels - no need - though I personally prefer my big, snuggly ones - so I take them. Do buy a raft/ring for the lazy river- much cheaper at Walmart - and then leave it behind.

I agree with Ellen. Towels can be exchanged at the towel hut. Buy your float for the Lazy River before you go and leave behind as stated. You can inflate the float at the towel hut they have a air hose hanging on a support beam. What I usually do is my last morning at SC is look around the pool for a family with kids and ask if they could use another float. Most are happy with the offer:) .

Please give us a status report of the beach and ocean in front of the Surf/Ocean clubs. Unfortunately the news has not been good lately...

We will be at Surf Club in January. Do they allow rectangular rafts in the lazy river or just the inter tube style floats?

Thx.

We just returned from the Surf Club last night. To be honest, we were only in the ocean once in front of the Marriotts due to the slimy bottom and seaweed leftover from Omar. We walked down to Playa Linda/Hyatt area one day and the bottom was better but still a slight odor.

It was not the usual great weather in Aruba although we recognize it is the "rainy" season. There was only one major rainstorm one afternoon but only 2 sunny days out of our 8. The locals said it had never been this rainy in years. There were some mosquitos.

There was an major air conditioning failure in the Spyglass building (where we were staying) and we had no air from midday Tuesday through Thursday night. Luckily the days were cloudy and the ceiling fans made it bearable. Marriottt compensated us $300 towards our room.

We had a good time despite the lack of sun...hey, an 85 degree cloudy day in Aruba is better than a 30 degree day in NJ!!!!

Have a great time!

Innertube type only no larger than 36 inches in diameter (I believe I remember the dimension correctly) and noodles are the only things alllowed in the Lazy River.

You can rent snorkeling equipment right before you enter the last turn off to Baby Beach - sort of between Rogers Beach and Baby Beach - they rent by the hour.
