What is the reason it is no longer part of Marriott--was it the owners or was it Marriott?
Thanks,
Marriott had perfectly reasonable demands to protect the integrity of their brand, and the Aspen and Cedar building/HOA owners chose to separate from Marriott, rather than comply with Marriott's perfectly reasonable quality/guest experience demands. The Aspen and Cedar HOA's then hired Vacation Resorts International to manage those two buildings. So, now, Marriott manages three buildings, Evergreen, Douglas, and Birch, and VRI manages Aspen and Cedar. There is a condominium association/HOA comprised of representatives of each of the five buildings, who govern/manage the common areas of the resort.
****Without a doubt, the most significant, recent news, is that the Cedar HOA (I believe it's Cedar, and not Aspen) has decided to sell their timeshare interests, to disband the timeshare plan, and to convert the Cedar Building to whole ownership. Lord only knows what the implications of that may be on the resort, as a whole.
