Aruba Trade?

I am considering placing a request for Aruba OC or SC in April 2013 with a Platinum Ocean Pointe week. Does anyone have experience with trading into Aruba at this time of year?

If I split my 2Br Lockoff and request with the 1br & studio will I have a shot at upgrading both units to larger units? Or should I just make the request with the whole 2br unit??

I appreciate any thoughts/experience that you are able to offer.

I did mine for February at Marriott Aruba Ocean Club with one of my 2BR Platinum Ocean Pointe reserved February weeks.
First time (Feb, 2009) I was confirmed w/in 2-3 months...early in 2008 for 2009.
Second time ( Feb, 2011) I never did get confirmation from II. I waited for 9 months. Called II & cancelled my "request first" & took back my OP week. Ended up renting from an Ocean Club Owner for Feb, 2011 & it rained a lot that week.( unusual for Aruba). This winter going back to Ocean Pointe! :cool:

April should be easier to get than February. Try it & see what happens. You have nothing to lose. What OP week will you use for this April OC or SC trade?

April is still Platinum season and although a little less busy than Feb. it is still peak season. If you want a 2BR then I'd rec. using your 2BR for exchanging in. It is hard to get a 2BR on exchange during peak season especially; Aruba is a terrific trader and most owners will lock off.
