Aruba Surf Club Room Request?

Heading to Surf Club over memorial day week.. can't wait!! We exchanged in through II and have a ocean side 2br.. besides asking for a higher floor are there any other requests we should be putting in? I searched through older threads and can't seem to find any info on ocean side units...

Is a car necessary for Aruba or are taxis pretty sufficient? Any other suggestions? Thanks so much!!

I've been told the default view is pool view. We prefer the north-facing, Lighthouse view and always request that in addition to the high floor. We enjoy sitting on the balcony watching the kite surfers rather than overlooking the pool.

WRT to car vs. taxis, we always rent a car even tho' it's more expensive than taxis. We like the convenience a car affords us. Taxis are plenty.

Renting a car is a matter of preference.

If you are satisfied with laying out at the beach and only plan on going out to dinner occasionally, you will probably be able to go cheaper by just using taxis.

If you prefer the freedom of being able to drive all over the island, and plan on going out nightly as well as going shopping, then renting a car is the better option.

It really depends on your plans.

As others have said, it really is a matter of personal preference. There is no problem getting taxis, but we prefer to rent for our convenience.

I generally request a high floor poolside, but if you get a high floor the views to the N are beautiful. You really can't go wrong on either side, but as an exchanger since you are more apt to get a lower floor I think poolside might be a better request.

Thanks so much! With work going the way it is going right now a vacation can't come soon enough! I think we will be fine with staying at the resort most of the time.. will probably try a rental for a couple of days out of the week for excursions.. Counting down the days..
