Hi, we stayed at the Surf club a year or so ago and enjoyed the lazy river . This year we traded into the Ocean club and the wife is dissapointed we will not have use of the lazy river. She keeps hinting she's going to "breach" the air tight Surf Club pool security with tire floatie in tow. I remember they issued us green wristbands to wear while on the Surf Club property but we never wore them and nobody asked us if we were guests there while using the lazy river or pool. Have you ever seen security question anyone at the pool area without a wristband? Also, does Ocean club issue wristbands as well? Just curious...thanks.
BTW, leaving in 5 weeks. Can't wait

Yep, we've been forced to go get our wristbands a couple of time when we've forgotten them. I think they are more vigilant when the river is more crowded.

Have a great time. I'm counting down the weeks until May :cheer: .

You can always wait until after dark to use the lazy river; I doubt anyone will bother you. We always went for a lazy river swim at night and it's not very crowded then and no one checked our wristbands... kind of hard in the dark.:D

The Security people will stand directly overhead on the foot bridges looking for wristbands.

Also Marriott reads these forums and they know all of the tricks. Now that you have posted your plan, they already know to look for you.

We were there for a week in November . We never wore our wrist bands and used the lazy river every day. No one ever questioned us or asked to see our wrist bands. From what I remember I don't think many people did wear their wrist bands. We had no problems anywhere.

Security generally stands on the bridges and watch. I do not believe OC utilizes wrist bands.

We own at SC. This year we are staying at OC. OC has some unique benefit we are looking forward to using. If you are at the OC, use the OC. Not fair to the folks at the SC to have people crashing. I have been there many times when the lazy river was packed.

Security is very vigilant. Actually saw a lot more security this time, even on the beach which I hadn't seen in prior visits. If you don't have a wrist band they will ask you to leave the pool to get one, and they change the color weekly. As posted above, there are constantly people on the overhead bridges checking; I saw them everyday this past week while we were there.

Wish we were still there....
