Are the all Ocean Front units the ones that face the water closest to the beach or are there other units designated Ocean Front beside those?

Stay away from the southwest corner (ocean front)....i.e., on the far right side if you are looking up @ OC from the beach. . That's where we ended up last time and the constant loud music from the beach bars ( Moomba, in particular) was intolerable. It blasts right into the Master bedroom. You cannot enjoy your oceanfront balcony because of the noise. The music goes well past midnight.

Wow,good to know. Just came back from there today. Had an OV unit and didn't hear anything. You would think that the Surf Club would absorb most of the noise since it extends out past the OC. If the noise is bad at the OC then the Surf Club OF units it must be insanely loud.

We have an Aruba Surf Club Oceanfront and haven't been concerned about the noise. Of the three different views we have, that's my fav of the bunch.

I've rarely heard anything even on the balcony in any of the OS units I've stayed in at the SC, even though they are on the side of the front building. I was wondering about that after reading posts about complaints of the noise from people staying at the OC, yet when I was there in Feb. we were on the 6th floor on the poolside of the SC and it was fine.

I've been to both Surf Club and Ocean Club and we never heard any loud music from any of our room locations. The only time we heard the music is when we were literally on the beach.

We often get Ocean Side at the OC, high up on the Moomba side. I recall that the noise is primarily on the weekends and not up to midnight. 10:00?

The loud music from Moomba bar continues way past 10:00PM and not just on weekends. I am talking about Oceanfront, South West corner. So, when looking up at OC from the beach it is the area on the far right, Oceanfront. Beautiful view...but intolerably noisy. It started when we checked in on Sunday. And, continued throughout the week. Many times we asked to be to moved. There was nothing else available. We even said we would give up our Oceanfront location and take Oceanside. But Marriott said we could not do that.
And, in the morning you get the music from the water aerobics class!

Ok, so I literally just came home from the Ocean Club last night and had the Ocean Front 2 bedroom unit on the 6th floor that you are speaking of at the Southwest corner. So, I particularly paid attention to the music situation and this is what we found.....1st, just want to say the view was AMAZING!!!!! It was the best view I have ever had anywhere, any resort through our travels and the balcony was quite large and felt like we really lucked out on getting it! It was an exchange from II (there goes the theory that others have that you get the worst room/view through II exchanges). In fact every time a staff member asked us which units we were staying in, they commented we had the best of the resort. So back to the music, yes, there was music playing every night, but it ended at 10pm. This didn't bother us, we went to bed around 10pm and the music was done. There was one exception, on Sunday night it lasted until 2:30am and although it was only heard by myself-- my hubby and 2 kids didn't notice it. It was especially party like that night (the next day was also a Holiday there, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it or if it is something they just do on Sundays). Also, we never heard any water aerobics music from our units, in fact, they didn't even start till later in the morning, but we were already on the beach by that point, so that didn't bother us either. If were given a unit again in this section of the resort I would take it in a heart beat, it was awesome and the music situation wasn't an issue for us.

Sunday night is the big night at the Moomba. The other 6 are pretty quiet.

Well, this is good to know. Sounds like things have changed since February, 2011 which is when we had the week-long problem with loud music from Moomba Bar and also from the water aerobics music in the morning.
We were in the 2BR oceanfront 4th floor southwest corner.
