My son gets married in October but his wife is a teacher and cant go on a Honeymoon until Thanksgiving. What are the odds of getting top tier Aruba trade for thanksgiving week. I feel like it not going to happen so looking at booking hotels using Chase Sapphire points. Right now I am leaning towards https://www.hiltonaruba.com/

Is this a good honeymoon hotel any others I should consider ? Any Aruba advice would be appreciated. The ABC islands are about the only Caribbean islands I haven't been to. I could book the hotel and then put in OGS in II and RCI.

In II I would do OGS for
Costa Linda Beach Resort
Marriott Aruba Surf Club
Marriott Aruba Ocean Club

In RCI
Costa Linda Beach Resort

he is used to staying at Hyatt and Westin timeshares in Hawaii so I need to stay 4 star and above

If its for a honeymoon, you may want to spring for an all-inclusive (AI). I think two of the better ones are the Riu and Barcelo. Both of those are in the high rise area (Palm Beach) and in the middle of the action. I've stayed at the Barcelo for 4 days on all-inclusive, and it was awesome. Keep in mind I think most all-inclusives are rip-off, but this is one of the times where i felt I got value for the money. If you book Barcelo, you may want to consider even stepping it up a notch and booking the royal level. Here's how all that works: When you arrive they have you book the restaurants for dinner half the days you are there, you are supposed to go to the buffet the other half. If your booked to the royal level, you can go to the "royal restaurant" those days you are supposed to be going to the buffet. If you decide not to spring for the royal level, I would suggest just telling them its your honeymoon, and just showing up for the restaurants anyway and ask if they have any room, they'll almost always accomodate you (I never ate at the buffet, even though its not bad, but the restaurants are better). Barcelo has shows and some nightlife (but its repetitive) which is good entertainment. You can join "club barcelo" on its webpage for free and get free internet. The intenet stunk though. The Riu, however is a step up from Barcelo. Occasionally Barcelo "runs out" of the good alcohol, or the bartenders get sassy (i.e they get sick of making me mojitos so they conviently run out of mint). Also Barcelo "forgets" to restock your fridge with beer. It's this "last second" "cheapness" that might rub people wrong. I just went to another bar if they decided to pull that stuff, which was very seldom when I was there. At the Riu, none of that exists, from what I hear.

Aruba is a great honeymoon spot, as the weather is literally always 88 degrees, at any time of the year.

The Hilton Aruba is definitely a nice property also in the High rise section, and its also in the middle of things. But its somewhat costly, and for me upgrading to AI was worth it. They have a great casino though, and they give out beers VERY freely. I was there, definitely not gambling, went to the bar to try to pay for a drink and was handed a large pint of Stella for free :)

The Marriott's are very nice property, but they are at the end of the high rise hotels, and far from the nightlife strip action (at least not easily walkable).

Eagle aruba is poor. Don't even consider it. It not on or adjacent to the beach, you have to walk to La Cabana just to get to the beach.

Costa linda is further down Eagle Beach on the low rise side. I hear its a good place to stay. I have no experience with properties further down on Eagle Beach (low rise). Its to far from the downtown center for me.

However Playa Linda is right across the street from all the nightlife, restaurants. Its literally the centermost resort (think of it as the Caesars of Vegas in aruba in terms of location). People talk well of it. Its a reasonably priced timeshare, and a good exchange if your exchnging.

Only other honorable mention is the Divi Phoenix. It looks like it has an awesome beach. I always meant to stay there, but never did. Don't cofuse this with the other Divi resorts (i.e. Divi Village) which are down by Costa Linda.

Thanks for the info. My son and his future wife don't drink alcohol so thats why I choose Hilton and not the AI resorts. They have stayed at AI before in Mexico and liked it, but I thought they would have more fun exploring the local food scene. Do they a have good local food scene in Aruba ?

Excellent restaurants in Aruba. So very many choices.

I would also add II Renaissance to your timeshare list as being honeymoon worthy.
Downside is they only have Friday Check ins.
In RCI Points is The Beach Villas at DIVI Phoenix. As nice if not nicer than the Marriott. You don't want the regular Phoenix units.

We sold our Marriott Surf because we are beach people and much prefer La Cabana on Eagle Beach. But it doesn't have that honeymoon wow! That the others would have.

A favorite to visit for cocktails and dinner is the Hilton. I think they would really enjoy that too. Lush tropical grounds -large outdoor area and right across from all the action of the many restaurant. Nice rooms.

Edit: I just saw you mention they don't drink alcohol. I do and my meals averaged $120-150 for two. Without alcohol would bring that down to 80-100.
I was at La Cabana for 6 weeks January February and am going to Marriott Ocean/Renaissance for 5 weeks April/May.
Let me know if you want restaurant recommendations.

Thanks Pat ! Restaurant recommendations would be good. They love Seafood, Sushi, Asian, Poke etc. They get plenty of Steak and BBQ in Texas so anything unique to the island would be good.

We have gone to Aruba annually since 1987. For a honeymoon in a hotel I would go to the Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort. It is couples only and it is NOT all-Inclusive. The only other hotels I would go to are the Ritz Carlton, Marriott Stelaris or the Hyatt. The last 3 are on Palm Beach where the first on is on Eagle Beach. From 1987-200 we stayed at the Hyatt and since thence have owned 3 weeks at the Marriott Aruba Ocean Club. Regardless of what you do Aruba is wonderful. If you get the reservation send me a PM and I'll send you a list of wonderful restaurants. Aruba dining is excellent and there is no reason to ever do AI.

I couldn't recall the name but Bucuti and Tara always gets high marks on all the Aruba groups I belong to.

I would absolutely add the Renaissance to your list. The private island with the flamingos feels very boujie and exclusive. I've considered it as a potential honeymoon destination for myself. It's a very comfortable resort.

Definitely check out Bucuti and Tara! They are geared to adults who want peace and quiet, but it is easy to leave the resort for town if you want.

I remember reading years ago on their website that ringing cell phones are frowned upon. I don't know if that is still a rule.

This pretty well sums up what they offer:
