Arriving Guest Information [merged]

Perhaps it's been there for awhile, and perhaps reported here and I missed it, but I was looking at my ressys yesterday, and I am pretty sure it was not there then....

But now when I go to my week ressy listings on MVC website, at the top right of the listings, there is a link which says "Change Arriving Guest Information", which when clicked, leads you to an online form to submit your arriving guest info.

It's there on the points ressys too, but buried a bit....you have to click the "view" link to the right of a specific points ressy, then in upper right corner of the Guest Profile section, the same link is there to "Change Arriving Guest Information".

Figured I would pass the info along if it is indeed new.

Might be handy, though it might take them a while to complete it. I submitted an online request to make 2024 consecutive/concurrent reservations and haven't heard anything back yet today. Not sure how long it usually takes. This will teach me, should have just called...

Not sure. I have not been able to view my reservations online for nearly a year. That page just errors out. I just used the link from Post #2.

Talk about an unconscionable agreement. They make you certify it is not commercial activity, but also force you to release them from liability for cancelling it for being commercial activity (which you just certified it isn't.)

Interesting form without any reference to Marriott on the form. Has anyone talked to anyone at Marriott about this form, its real purpose, and application to normal owners. Renting units has been encouraged by sales personnel for years as a means of covering maintenance fees. I can't imagine the Marriott Customer Base would try to make money by renting out timeshares.

It might be as simple as having MVC define a commercial use or enterprise, putting some limitation on rentals, and retraining the sales force.

MVC instituted the 20K points transfer limit for a reason. Certainly they are seeing renting as somewhat of an issue. They are simply covering their bases. There are reference to Marriott and Abound in the forum. Not sure when you click on it from a website that it doesn't embed with the existing website.

If you are talking about the "Upcoming Reservations" link under the "Use Weeks" via the top menu bar, mine often errors out too. I can get to my upcoming (and past) weeks ressys by clicking the "Weeks Reservations and History" selection from the "Use Weeks" menu....then when it lands on the next page, I click "Weeks Reservations and History" link on that page, and from there I can see upcoming and past weeks ressys.

Hoping that also works for you.

Thanks for offering that one up, but unfortunately, it's my points reservations, that is, "Points Reservations," under the "Use Points" tab that continues to error out on me. Tried your suggestion, but it only shows my weeks - not points - reservations.

So... the verbiage said Abound Exchange and since deeded weeks inventory are not Abound Exchanges, shouldn't deeded week reservations be exempt from the "commercial" usage restriction?

There are still certain restrictions against commercial use of weeks. It is written into the resort CC&Rs.

Also strange is that there is an embedded iframe that is displaying this page where the form is located, with a wordpress style

It seems that marriott-vacations.com is a legit MVC domain, but not 100% certain. Either way this is very bush league website programming. Not surprising to anyone I'm sure.

I haven't read up resort CC&Rs. Do they prohibit all rentals or just high volume rentals? It is easy to "catch" rentals simply by checking out redweek.
Personal Use; Commercial Purposes. Accommodations, Base Exchange Benefits, Base Plus Exchange Benefits, Special Benefits, and Use Periods may not be used for any commercial purpose. This prohibition on commercial use includes, but is not limited to, any illegal activity or a pattern of occupancy, rental, leasing, or use by a Member that Exchange Company, in its reasonable discretion, could conclude constitutes a commercial enterprise or practice. In the event a Member is determined to be reserving or using the Accommodations, Base Exchange Benefits, Base Plus Exchange Benefits, Special Benefits, and Use Periods for any commercial purpose Exchange Company may immediately cancel any current reservation(s) made by such Member and may impose such additional penalties or restrictions as determined by Exchange Company, in its sole and absolute discretion, from time to time. The restrictions of this paragraph do not apply to Exchange Company or its affiliates or designees.

What I posted is from the documentation for points but as I read the post you quoted, it's consistent with the same and with all the ones I've seen or seen posted. As I read it, rentals are not excluded but "patterns of commercial activity" are. I do not believe one could use the post you referred to to say that any rental was commercial activity but it is less clear IMO.

@Dean When I read Exchange, I interprete that as Abound Exchange. I am referring to deeded weeks CC&Rs. I don't view deeded week reservations as Exchanges.

I read this as a points reservation being an exchange. Not an interval exchange.

All of the public offering statements I’ve seen have similar wording as referenced above.
