That's really interesting, I did not realize it worked that way!

Out of curiosity, does there need to be a common owner across two different contracts on the same account? I'm just wondering if close family friends can pool points together in this way. i.e. - Person A and B own a contract with 300k points. Person C and D who are friends with A/B but not related own a separate timeshare with 300k points. Can everyone pool together into a single account? I guess the main advantage of this is that they could jointly reserve larger units, but still manage payment of MFs separately. Also the risks associated with deed ownership would not have to be borne by one person.
I think addition of owners is done on the account of the requester. They have access to all points regardless of which contract you have them on and get whatever perks you have. You could probably build on from there. I doubt Wyndham would allow a group of different owners to combine all their memberships but it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I personally wouldn’t do it. I don’t mind paying the MF for my kids but not for unrelated people. I hope to quit claim our share to them before the inevitable happens and their ownership continues without having to deal with wills and trusts.

So, as someone considering Wyndham via ebay / resale - If you just want to use points or RCI transfer, no expectation or interest in VIP "perks", with the purchase cost very low and MF reasonable - it sounds like the issues that would be applicable are difficult check ins, and maybe the website has "problems"? Can someone expand on what the problems are in using the website? I sort of glean searching for availability is difficult?

Check-in is easy, because "No thank you" is a complete (and acceptably polite) sentence. You don't have to give a reason--and it's better if you don't. Reasons can be argued with, but a simple "I don't want to" is unassailable.

I don't think the web site is particularly problematic. Then again, I'm using it in very simple and straightforward ways. Every once in a while it has a hiccup, but they don't keep me from taking vacations. There are things that should be more transparent. For example, I still don't have an individual accounting for my ownership's annual fees. But, given what they were last year, they make sense so I've decided not to bother with it.
