To my surprise my instacart order got the turkey breast. I actually thought it would be out of stock. Now I will make the turkey with roasted potatoes instead of the meatballs and spaghetti.
I was going to fix Honeybaked Ham however I never received the shipment yesterday . Either they didn't ship, it got delivered to the wrong house or the shipper stole it! Oh well, I have rib eye in the freezer.
my (now online) college kids are making an Easter Bunny cake from 2 rounds cakes that they cut up to make ears, etc. We don't have the jelly beans for eyes etc. using leftover candycorn from Halloween. But still fun hands on project for them. There's a Bday that week--so doubling as Bday cake.

I bought a foil ham at Walmart, smallest one I could get. My stepdad still comes over every evening for dinner and TV or a movie. We have an actual theater in our house, so we enjoy the evenings with our 120" screen.
I bought a ham yesterday and had some hash brown potatoes in the freezer to make cheesy hash brown potato casserole to go with it.
About an hour ago, our son that lives 3 blocks away called and said he was cooking a beef tenderloin tomorrow and if we would like, he would bring us some! So, I will share my casserole as it is D-I-L's favorite and I also have some frozen roll dough that I can thaw and bake tomorrow (grandson's fav). So when he brings me beef, I will send potatoes and rolls to them. This son has been over every few days during this time checking on us.
He works from home and his wife does not work, so they are like us - generally self-isolated most of the time anyway - so not worried about his coming over and sharing.
We are usually with friends or family for Passover. I made traditional foods- chicken soup with matzo balls, matzo and fruit kugel, chicken jubilee. I did not do a Seder plate or other traditional foods such as charoset. Made meals and took them to friends who were unable to cook!

Ilene, we always do one of the seders for Passover at our house for a group of family and friends of about 25. This year my wife made most of the traditional foods including matzo ball soup, chopped liver spread, gefilte fish, brisket, potatoes and onions, asparagus, etc. We packed up packages of the food including matzoh and bottles of wine and dropped them off at our family and friends homes in NY and NJ. We then had a virtual Seder via zoom with all by using a power point Haggadah that my wife put together. Even my young granddaughters participated by saying the 4 questions to start the Seder. Although not the same as being together, it was great being able to see everyone and share the holiday during this terrible pandemic. Happy a holidays all. Stay safe .
We bought a spiral cut ham/potatoes/green beans/dinner rolls/huge chocolate brownies dinner from Fresh Market. It was all very good and nicely priced to feed four. My brother lives here in town (but moving away soon to be near the grandkinder, dammit) so we had them over for an early Easter dinner today. The weather on actual Easter doesn't sound all that good here tomorrow and we wanted to eat out on the deck where possibilities of human contamination would be reduced.
My husband has 2 siblings and his parents in town. All 3 kids are making a part of the meal, splitting it into portions for each family, and exchanging food. Then we will have an Easter dinner via zoom after online Easter mass.
We normally host 24 people in our immediate family. It's just the 2 of us this year, but we're going to make our traditional dinner and deliver it to the parents and in-laws. We're cooking ham, yams, veggies, jello, deviled eggs, rolls, pumpkin pie.
We are going to attempt a (small-ish) pork loin on the grill, with a dry rub. My mother is making a corn pudding (she'll bake it in two smaller dishes; keep one for herself, and swap one with us for the pork and other sides.) I'll make a broccoli slaw and mashed sweet potatoes, and maybe try a recipe a friend shared for no-rise rolls. Also a lemon bundt cake, I think.
Oh, and I know that some of you have talked about disinfecting your groceries based on that one viral video. Really, there's no need. Please don't wash your fruits and veggies in bleach either. NPR story this morning.
I usually host my in laws for Easter but not this year sadly. I would usually have a pasta dish like manicotti and then a ham with lots of sides. It’s just me hubby and the kids so keeping it simple making sauce, meatballs and ravioli.I’m also making an appetizer sort of like a pizza rustica but it’s how my mom makes it and calls it salami pie. I will bring her a piece and my siblings and I ordered her and my stepdad dinner from a local restaurant and are meeting at their house to deliver and drive by/honk. They both are sick with what we think is COVID19, test results should be back Monday or Tuesday but it’s pretty obvious it’s what they have. Scary. Long Island is really in the thick of it now and I fear people will not listen and get together with family and we will be hit with another wave.
ETA my mom just called to tell me they called with results and she does in fact have Corona virus. So far she seems okay. She’s 76 and my stepdad 77.
Oh, Theiggy--I hope that they can both recover at home, and not have to go to the hospital. Hope they can talk to their doctor every day. Do they have a pulse oximeter? and a thermometer? So that they can monitor those two critical things themselves? My husband's cousin--a presumed positive in Brooklyn--is monitoring those two key things at home, and so far, so good.

So they have a thermometer both have no fever currently (my mom had 100-101, fir about a day and a half). My brother ordered them a pulse oximeter, hopefully it will arrive soon. Strangely they are not having too many respiratory symptoms right now. Both have coughs but not too bad, my had vomiting and other digestive issues.. and my stepfather is very rundown. Today mom has no real symptoms but occasional cough. Thank you for your kind words we are watching over them for any signs of trouble and speaking to their drs.
DH wants easter dinner so I cranked up the Trager and am smoking a ham. Scalloped potatoes, green beans with mushrooms, roll and fruit salad. Skipped the sweet potato casserole because I don't eat them and none of the kids will be here.
