I was told for 4000 points I can buy a airline ticket in USA, e.g. LAX to MCO.
Usually these tickets are worth $300 to $400.

Is this all complete sales BS, or is it for real?

Please let me know your experiences using summarbay crown club points.

I think you are talking about RCI points from SummerBay Resort

RCI points can be used to air tickets, and other things. They aren't the great bargain the were 5 or 6 years ago, plus they have a ton of restrictions now. You can only use 25% of your annual points for partner purchases. So unless you have 160,000 annual points, you can't use 40,000. There are also some additional fees like Program fees, etc that add $75-150 to each transaction.
So if you asking about RCI points, the sales weasels spiel had a grain of truth, but not the whole truth.
