Are any HRC properties still selling deeded weeks (other than Maui)?

For any of the experts out there and I've learned so much from people like Kal and Echino....

I would only ever buy a deeded week.. and I would only go the re-sale route... but we own a deeded week at Hyatt Ka'anapli Beach and I was surprised during our last owners update that they are still selling EOY, Float and Fixed weeks from the developer. A sales rep mentioned that the HRC team is eager to end their relationship with the Developer "Host" and Maui Timeshare Ventures is how the HRC appears on a credit card statement. Just curious which properties are selling what. My parents are at the HRC in Dorado at the moment and there are no "concierges" or sales people anywhere to be found on site which made me curious. Based on prior stays, it seems that High Sierra Lodge and HRC at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek never shifted to huksters trying to pawn portfolio points to the general public likely due to inventory issues? I assume that was the case for Aspen and the other CO properties? Just curious about this. Thanks!

Just Maui and they are 75% sold according to sales

AFAIK, only Maui is being sold by developer (though that may change with Welk coming into the fold...).

For High Sierra Lodge, I know there are two agents that advertise in the lobby -- Bill Gabrielli is one. The other one used to sponsor and attend the weekly owners wine and cheese meeting -- can't remember her name since it has been so long (COVID shut down the weekly meetings). There has been no dedicated internal HRC sales here for as far as I can remember (last 8 years or so that I visit regularly).

Hi TravelGuy, welcome to TUG.

Could you please let us know more about this eager to end their relationship thing?

I know that once Maui is sold out they are going to be selling the portfolio program which is odd as Maui is not a part of the program. Most all the salesmen told us, they are leaving when that happens as they aren't interested in selling points.

With pleasure! (and thank you for the welcome). I asked the rep in the sales center (which as you all likely know is physically located in the Hyatt Regency Hotel beside the HRC),"what are you going to sell when you run out of deeded weeks to sell?" He said"It's very complicated with the current developer." I asked "who is the current developer" .. and he said "Host and that's in a separate agreement through Maui Timeshare ventures." He said that "the sales center is looking to sever ties with Host as soon as possible as it severely limits what they can sell and how ... especially with 'these tough times made more difficult by Covid." He said other than packages to return to Maui for those not interested in a full weeks, that's the only other thing they are able to sell - and that they cannot sell portfolio nor are they trained at all in it. He indicated that could change if "they adjust the relationship with host." My follow-up question out of curiosity sake was: "Are your benefits with Hyatt or Marriott" ... he said: "Our Health benefits and insurance are with Marriott which is great but all of our travel perks or bonuses are handled on the Hyatt side of things." He also added he wishes "everything was all Marriott rather than split with Hyatt." He would not elaborate if the sales huksters in Hawaii get their travel bonuses / benefits through Hyatt Residence Club or the actual separate Hyatt corporation and by that time... our conversation had come to an end.

Interesting. Thanks for the information. It sounds like an awkward situation for them.

I'm at the Hacienda FDel Mar right now for 3 weeks - In my 8th floor unit. My first time back since the $44 milion rebuild after the two hurricanes that destroed the property - mostly. New rebuild is very nice .

There are probably MANY MANY deeded rweeks for re-sale here. Through the Homeowners asociation's Broker / Realtor Rep.. (An offical Hyatt reseller - last I knew - and you know what that means re the Hotel program). A deeded week here might meet your needs especialy if your just looking to by deeded week points.
