[April Fools Joke] Harbour Lake/Willow Ridge Bought by Disney

Looks like we will be owning a Disney Vacation Club resort soon. Not sure what to think of this yet...

Disney and Marriott Vacations Worldwide jointly announced today that they have entered in to an agreement for Disney Vacation Club to acquire management rights at Marriott's Harbour Lake in Orlando Florida and Marriott's Willow Ridge Lodge in Branson Missouri.

These two properties were originally branded under Marriott Vacations Wordwide's Horizons brand. "We believe these two properties will fit perfectly with our brand", a Disney spokesman said. A Marriott Vacations Worldwide representative indicated "Both of these properties were built with family experiences in mind. Owners at these resorts will be excited to join the Disney family".

While Disney Vacation Club has had challenges in the past with properties located outside of their theme parks, they will look to the existing ownership base to help them further grow their Vacation Club brand.

Disney indicated that the acquisition will also provide exciting opportunities for current and new Disney Vacation Club owners to have great experiences in Branson Missouri and at what will be our first Orlando property located outside of Walt Disney World in Orlando.

"It has not yet been determined if they will provide Disney transportation or Magical Express service for the Harbour Lake property in Orlando", the Disney spokesman said.

Information about how Disney Vacation Club owners can access these added properties will be provided after legal closing of the agreement.

Very well played when considering there was a thread about DVC reps saying they were buying Marriott sometime back and that Branson timeshare weasels have been shoveling the "Disney's coming to Branson" because MO is Walt's home state.

I read this first thing and went into action to buy multiple weeks on ebay that I look forward to converting to DVC. I paid a premium but it will be worth it.

I don't have time to read the whole thread so I'll get the details later. Off to buy more Willow Ridge/DVC!!
