Sorry if this is a duplicate thread, but I just wanted to see how many resale buyers have received "Free" Max. From what I have read it has been a headache for a few of you, especially those with bHC AI or Elite Premiere.

Thank you! I thought that was only for those with issues with their dues. I was hoping to see how many Tuggers it actually effected and what property they added that triggered it. Based on what I see it is NY properties.

For better or worse I remember someone being given 'free Max' as a result of the resale purchase of a non-NYC property...Elara maybe?!?

Unfortunately, there are a *lot* of Max threads to search through (and you can't search for "Max" anyway because it is too short and/or common).

I wonder if everyone will be Max at some point. It seems that IT has difficult time keeping the two memberships separate. They have a hard enough time keeping everything straight. Throw in HVC/DRI, Embarc/HGVC and probably any BG properties that are integrated into the two systems, they just might not be able to handle it.

I got maxed when I added 5 Boulevard resales. I am not sure which one of the deeds triggered it though. Max is a god send for me since it comes with free booking and cancellation, and a couple of guest certs.
Wow! 5 at once?!!?

I hope not. We are Elite Premier and for the most part Max is a downgrade. The sales team keep trying to sell us on all the other properties, however, the only thing they really have to offer is Cabo Azul (which is in RCI).

I just spoke to a rep and she said she has heard about the "free" Max issue and said a simple resale shouldn't trigger it. She said NY properties or those who have both DRI & HGVC are the ones who are experiencing this. Hopefully others can chime in and see if this might be true in their case. We are thinking about adding more to our portfolio, but don't know if it is worth the headache.

And here I was thinking I'd done well with 2 Blvd Deeds in quick succession (I expect the second to finalize next week...). We are already max, but I'm still secretly hoping they will make a mistake and bump our level... lol

My first Hilton purchase (resale of course) just recorded today; 2 Elara deeds. Not sure how long it takes Hilton to get everything set up on their side, but I’ll add my data point here when they do. Any guesses how long from date of recording to being able to log into the HGVC site might be?

Usually 1 week or so. 2 tops if they are busy. You will need to call the 1800 number and ask them to set up an account for you once the Elara has processed it.

I've bought tons of deeds, and never got max. I even one time applied for Max because there was some form and I heard people got in that way, but they denied me due to being resale. I would love to get max for free, but I am really happy with the HGVC properties as it is.

I got it when I bought a resale at Craig (Scotland). I have to call back in when I want to do anything "not max" and they can manually change me back, but there is a sweep process that runs overnight that always puts me back into max. It matters for things like free upgrades as a legacy elite premier, and conversion of points to Honors, etc. It's a pain mostly, but I have figured out how to work around it.

DRI IT, did a better job managing their resorts with II, RCI, The Club and deeded weeks.

Or maybe to maintain the old system they charge $7k to everyone that wants to stay there.

Why would a HGVC Legacy member pay them $7k to leave a system alone? They should just build a separate system for Max and migrate any Legacy member into that system if they buy direct from HGVC, the cost to purchase will be more than enough to cover the extra steps.

We just went through an "Owners Update" at Elara. The experienced salesperson said he went and spoke with some of the VP's there and he said they said no way did anyone ever get Free Max. And he said he was familiar with TUG. And the journey continues ... hee hee

typical, one hand has no idea what the other is doing. He should have spoke to VP in charge of IT, not Sales.

Another datapoint, I’m a brand new HGVC owner, purchased resale at Elara, was able to log in to the website today. My account shows as plain vanilla HGVC, not Max.
