TUGgers seems to have great advice on a wide variety of topics so thought I would reach out inthe TUG Lounge to see if anyone has any experience with vision therapy. If you have any experience with vision therapy can you share your thoughts with me? Vision therapy is an alternative to surgery to train the eyes to focus and address other vision and/or learning issues. It's a big investment and a yearlong commitment. I met with one doctor a year ago and I swear it was more like a timeshare presentation since she had a contract ready to sign even before the exam. I had a friend recommend another eye doctor and he seems much more patient oriented and he did a lot of testing before making recommendations. Yet I'm hesitant about a big investment in something that may not work. We could buy a LOT of Ebay timeshares for the price! :) Thanks for any input! Please feel free to PM if you prefer. Thank you!

Before you invest a lot of money, you might try Ultimeyes. It's an app for your phone and is less than $10. Some people swear by it, and some see no difference. I have it but haven't tried it yet. I'm waiting until a few months before my next eye exam.

My son went through vision therapy for oculomotor dysfunction, a program called Eyes on Track from Dr Kristi Remick. It was very successful and helped him. I agree it was not cheap, luckily our insurance covered 80% of the costs for the program. His pediatrician had to write a recommendation for it, it was a special care assistance program for children with learning disabilities.
