Anyone give their Frenchman's Cove unit to Marriott?

Has anyone "sold" thier 2009 FC week to Marriott? If so, what did they give? This is the second year in a row that they were "not taking any more inventory". Odd, since both years there was no availability for my week on the Marriott website. Perhaps someone can explain that to me, as it certainly makes no sense. When we purchased, that was clearly spelled out as an option (selling our week back to Marriott for the cash), but clearly it is not an option that appears available.

I think you are under a big misunderstanding here. First of all Marriott will not "Buy your unit back from you for cash". Once a resort is completely sold out which Frenchmen's Reef is not as far as I know Marriott will then accept units from owners and "list" them for resale to someone who is interested in buying there. They act as a broker to list your unit and find you a buyer. They do not just outright purchase it from you and as I said they will not even start to accept units for resale until the resort is sold out. If Marriott does find you a buyer you will get the current Marriott selling price for that season, view and # of bedrooms minus a 40% commission that Marriott charges.

I meant renting the 2009 week out through Marriott, not selling my unit back to Marriott.
I think a good question for Marriott is what weeks are they taking - and then next year, try and reserve one of those weeks. This is a resort in active sales - so Marriott has a LOT of developer inventory (weeks owned by Marriott that haven't sold yet) to put into II for exchange and rent on their website. They also know that certain times of year - say Sept to mid November, Early December, mid April to late May - they will have much less demand so don't need any additional weeks - especially since there is a hotel on property.

What week/season were you trying to give to Marriott to rent?

I suspect you are right, GrayFal. The confusing thing for me is, if they currently don't have any inventory for that week (which they don't either on website or by phone call), why wouldn't they offer something for the week?

It is first week of April, which should be good week (spring break, etc.).

Take a careful look at the top of the page that follows trying to make a reservation for that week:
For travel requests beyond 99 days, please call 1-888-236-2427
My guess is that when that week comes within the 99-day window, some weeks will be available.

As a comparison, President's Day week, another top week, is readily available. It's within that 99-day window.
