I am looking at listings for HGVC property on ebay, and some are priced beyond low. Have any of you purchased for super low (e.g., $500-1500 for a 5,000 point unit in Las Vegas) and have HGVC exercise their right to refuse?

Trying to figure out it if it is worth purchase something that low if Hilton is just going to refuse the deal.

I would avoid a timeshare ad placed by an individual with such limited information and a lack of understanding of their ownership. The image is of the wrong property, the owner lists the MF but minus the reserve fee and taxes, and there's no listing of proposed closing costs. My guess is that once you win, the owner is going to "wing it" with the sale and you'll find yourself in a long drawn-out process as he or she learns the ropes of selling a timeshare on his or her own.

Hello Ianneyan,

I bought a Silver week at HGVC Las Vegas Strip for $100.80 on eBay and it passed ROFR.
The MF are about $1000 annually and that gets me 3500 points.

I also bought a similar week at The Bay Club in Hawaii on eBay for $498, again no issues with ROFR.

I think since i bought the cheapest weeks Hilton were not interested, maybe they chase the platinum weeks.

Thanks,
Bad Barry

The HGVC on the strip does not have Silver weeks.

$1000 fee for 3500 annual points is an extremely bad deal. Nobody should consider these contracts, no matter how low is the initial purchase price.

A bi-annual 7K points contract gives you exactly 3500 points each year, with half the costs. Break-even on the higher initial purchase price is only few years.

I think you have to worry about ROFR for platinum weeks at least as long as Hilton has money in the budget for it. I think the gold weeks are only being taken if they have a buyer for the specific inventory in question at the time.

Always try to get your best deal and don't worry about the ROFR.
