Anyone else make deposits/requests into II yesterday to beat the changes?

We had the 1bed of our WIlllow Ridge lock-off I had been waiting to deposit. We made sure to deposit and make a request. Glad we did based on initial trading reviews.

Do you think having a request prior will grandfather you in and you won't be charged an upgrade fee?

Prior request are changed also. I checked mine and now you need to acknowledge what levels of upgrade charges you will accept.

During a Size-Upgrade promotion earlier in the year, I made dummy exchanges into 3BR-Units to save on Up-Size fees.
Earlier when I searched with those deposits, I could exchange into other resorts with Zero-Upsize fees up to 3BR-Units.
Today I see that I need to pay up to $599 to exchange into the same 3BR-Units.

I see the same thing but I actually paid for my room size upgrade! It seems pretty bad that it says both in the old system and the new system that the upgrade stays with the eplus and now the money I paid for the room size upgrade is just gone!
Sigh

The grandfathering idea doesn't work in the change to the new system. Everything was set to the new Trading Powers (TP) for my 5 deposits made a week or so ago. In a like manner, my open requests will be filled under the new system.

If it is any comfort, I looked at the impacts and I am not concerned by the changes which I think are more about bringing visibility and automation to the system. I expect no adverse result from the changes and also see more predictability and control. It may even cause some to deposit some good weeks earlier to enhance our selection and the filling of our requests.

These changes may also cause me to look to make more exchanges through Interval rather than depositing weeks for Abound points. Available good Abound point inventory has always been a challenge for me. If we were to buy more vacations, we would buy select weeks - no more expensive points and higher maintenance fees for us.

I am concerned that MVC will poach good inventory presented to Interval - Is this a problem or even a potential problem?

I like the Transparency, appreciate the Like-For-Like fairness in Exchanges and excited about the ability to see All-Inventory.
However, if I paid for something, I expect that to be honored.

Please share what you think you are paying for that you are not getting? Are you asking that they continue a promotion that you didn't take advantage of?

I talked to Interval three different times today to understand the new program. Please call them, they will likely answer your questions.

I am not asking them to continue a promotion.
I am questioning a promotion that I purchased "Size-Upgrade" $177. In addition, I purchased E-Plus $89.
I paid for a Size-Upgrade Studio-Deposit -> 3BR and completed an Exchange [currently holding a 3BR].
  • Last week, When I tried to Retrade [using E-Plus] I could exchange into another 3BR without an additional fee.
  • Today, when I try to Retrade [using E-Plus] I can exchange into another 3BR but it costs me an additional $599.
  • The only way for me to Retrade [using E-Plus] into another unit without paying a fee is to downgrade from my currently held 3BR -> Studio.
BTW: Using a different deposit [no E-Plus], Exchanged Marriott - Marriott [purchased "Size-Upgrade" into a 3BR]. Retrade 3BR-Marriott -> 3BR-Marriott, shows a $599 fee.

If they were going to do that, they would have done if before now. Oh let me correct that.... with the new management regime at MVW its quite possible, and even sensible to do some of that at least. When II is awash with some inventory but you can't get it at all easily in Abound they probably don't have the balance right, particularly when its developer owned inventory. I don't know what MVW gets out of depositing its owned inventory to II, hopefully some $$, so that might be the trade off as they don't need even more Club point to add to the mountain they own.

I've been told by MVC sales for over 20 years that MVC is going to starve II of inventory and so far its not happened. If it does happen, and I can't get value from using it then I'll adapt or ditch.

Making a deposit and/or ongoing exchange request prior to the ripoff fees does nothing... they made it effectively retroactive.
If you don't have something confirmed yet, they're going to call and demand you pad the uptrade fee for your exchange if/when it clears.

Total bait-and-switch and I don't see how this is legal.

They did the same thing when they changed the Platinum Free Guest Certificates from 5 to 3. They just stole them out of your account after you had purchased the Platinum membership.
