I would not touch this one with a stick. Look at the last listing on the seller that echino posted it looks exactly like the one you are thinking about. In my mind this is the same seller trying to lose the bad feedback I would not risk my money

Can confirm that "resortsales1" and "resortsalesgroup" are the same company. Spoke with one of their reps & they stated that "we no longer use that account (resortsales1) and that is because the person that handled our listings did not know what they were doing, and is no longer with the company."

Pretty sure that's who I just bought a property through TUG marketplace on. Didn't spend enough for it to be an effective scam, hopefully it goes through. Haven't been sent any documents yet but it's only been a few days. I can handle slow, if I actually end up with the property at the end of it.

Edit: the PayPal account is what was resortsales1. It was only $25 which I imagine to be a pretty worthless scam. There was an estoppel sent to me that was from less than a month ago, soooo. We shall see, I guess.

Just an update - I did get documents for the unit I'm trying to purchase. There was a slight misspelling in my address, and I wrote to the deeding dept about it. To my great surprise, I got a reply this morning thanking me for noticing the error, assuring me that new corrected docs would be on their way soon. Suddenly much more hopeful that this deal will go through.

Or a way to stretch things out for another few months......

I hope your deal goes thru but try not to get overly excited prior to it actually happening!

I'm trying to convince myself not to get my hopes up, but I just keep thinking that $25 just isn't worth scamming someone over. Time will tell!

Nothing definitive, but I sent an email asking how the process works, and promptly got back a well written reply explaining all the steps. One of those steps was obtaining a resale certificate from Massanutten, which I received a copy of by email the day after it was apparently issued.

So far, so good - but I still can't trust them enough to buy any of the stuff that they're listing on eBay that actually goes for decent money. I'll be really interested to hear if anyone gets the Worldmark contracts they were selling, for instance.

Heh, I had let myself get a little hopeful after the post in this thread: https://tugbbs.com/forums/threads/resort-transfer-group-resort-sales.299916/ where he worked with one of the same reps I did, Mariah. The title processing folks I've been corresponding with purport to operate out of St Louis, for what it's worth.

Hi Synergy, that was my post about my experience with Resort Transfer Group / Resort Sales. I am happy with my purchase and I’ve already made my reservation for this summer.

There was a thread of accusations against them here with a transaction gone south, they came here to “defend” themselves but seemed aggressive in their replies if I remember correctly. Some of the listings were a bit odd. I saw a Grandview listing on eBay that went for 650 bucks with info regarding the points as “approx 122,000 RCI points” yet the deeded week according to the points chart would have been 98K so someone paid 650 bucks for 98K points. I can go into other details but I won’t

What I would suggest is to get an estoppel from the resort. Also, make sure you have good knowledge about the resort you are looking to acquire, so you know exactly what you will be purchasing. You don’t want any surprises to pop up after the deed is signed.

Yes. They sent cease and desist letters to two tuggers.
