Anyone been to Westwind 1 lately?

We just confirmed a June 2013 week and wonder if anyone can give us info on the place.

I've read that we won't need to rent a car because the bus is just outside and the supermarket is close by. Is that right?

We've also confirmed an exchange to Westwind I. We're going in January, 2013.

We've been to the New Providence Island/Paradise Island three times - twice on cruises and once for a land vacatoin. We stayed at Comfort Suites, Paradise Island. It was right next to the Atlantis complex and the marina/shopping/restaurant area.

You won't need to rent a car. There are taxis at the airport that will take you to Westwind and, once you're there, you can take the $1.25 bus to get around the island or go downtown. You must take a taxi to cross to Paradise Island unless you take the bus to Nassau and walk across the bridge to PI.

The taxi driver stopped at the supermarket on the way to Comfort Suites.

Thanks Elaine. Have you heard anything about the Baha Mar project? Will that likely be a problem for this area?
