If you have been to the Flamingo property recently can you please tell me what construction is happening currently on the Linq project. Also is there any noise related to the building of the project in the rooms?

The work crews were driving pilings into the cleared lot near the hgvc pool end of the building, along the alley. They placed us on the other end away, didn't hear much noise at all.

What ever happened with the owners voting about demolishing their parking garage? Did that pass?

Thanks. I would very much like to stay there one day soon and when I saw this thread, I remembered about that vote. Hope it is a good thing for everone.

Just got back from the Flamingo

Was there this weekend on open season. Stayed in a room on the 6th floor in the middle of the building next to the elevator. While there was major construction going on outside, it wasn't a problem in the room. However, it was very loud out by the pool, especially the smaller (and less crowded) timeshare pool. The construction went on right behind that pool, so it was very loud.

FWIW, I'm not happy with what they've done with the larger pool - they've turned it into a 21 and older pool, and shunted the kids into what used to be the Flamingo's smaller 21 and over pool, which is now a small very crowded kids pool. There's a smaller area they set aside for kids at the mini-water slide closer to the Flamingo valet, but that part was only open on weekends. We took one step into the general kids pool, turned around and went back to the timeshare pool. Also, they allowed NO outside food or drinks at the hotel's pool (in contrast to the unfettered food/drinks you can bring to the timeshare pool). I even had to finish my coffee and leave behind an orange.

I will say I'd probably have been much happier with the changes if I hadn't been there with my kids, the larger pool did seem much more hip and happening than it had in the past, with the 21 year old minimum. Alas, when I was there with the boys last month for March Madness, it wasn't open yet! I lost out on both ends!

I heard that the Flamingo's big pool went adult only and I am sad to hear it is true. We used to hit that pool early when it was uncrowded then finish off with the HGVC pool and BBQ area.

Did HGVC state how long the major construction will continue next to the resort? Are there any blueprints or maps on how the HGVC will access the new area being built. Such as will there still be the side exit into the alley way?
