PRELIMINARY FORECASTS FOR TWO DAY SNOWFALL TOTALS FROM LATE SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY ARE AS FOLLOWS...

* IN THE LAKE TAHOE BASIN... 6 TO 12 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE AT LAKE LEVEL... WITH 10 TO 20 INCHES ABOVE 7000 FEET.

ANOTHER STORM MAY AFFECT THE REGION LATER NEXT WEEK AND BRING ADDITIONAL SNOW FROM LATE THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

David - we just returned from Tahoe and things are looking good. It started snowing after midnight and it was still snowing when we left about 10 am. Both Hwy. 50 & 88 required chains or 4WD and snow tires, so go prepared! And yes, they got snow at lake level, too.

I am going to Tahoe in 2 weeks. Keep that snow coming!! It was looking pretty bleak for a while.

This picture of the slopes at Heavenly Valley gets updated every 5 minutes from 6:30 to 4:30. There are links to other slopes as well.

They also have a live daily report on their webpage.

Its been snowing all afternoon. at least 2-3" at lake level. Reports from skiers/boarders today say at least 4-6" fell on mountain. Wil have to see Heavenly report in the morning. I will report on conditions Monday evening. Hopefully photos as well.
