In an effort to save $ on airfare, I held two 2BR (sleeps 6/4) at Wyndham WI Dells RCI #A777 for Spring break '09. I don't believe this is the new Glacier Canyon. However, it isn't Peppertree at Tamarack either. It is also on Xanadu, but I believe a different address.

Is this resort on the same property as Peppertree (now Festiva)? does it share amenities ie pool? Anything I should be aware of?

I know that it will still be cold in March. Is there enough to do in the Dells indoors?

Thanks, Jana

I'm going to guess (guess) that A777 is the Wyndham-built condo building, also known as Hunter Colony. It's a "standard Wyndham"---fourish floors, single-floor condos, etc. If I recall correctly, those units do have washer/dryer, though I can confirm in another couple weeks. We'll be there 8/2.

There are three HOAs at that Xanadu resort: Wyndhanm (Hunter Colony), Peppertree, and Mirror Lake. Previously, Whyndham + Peppertree were one RCI resort, and Mirror Lake was the other. It looks as though RCI has split the Wyndham/Peppertree HOAs, now that Festiva manages the resort but Wyndham sill has inventory.

I believe bnoble is correct.

At a recent stay at Tamarack, I was informed that Wyndham had one property on that site. As stated, the Hunter Colony. It's a nice looking building that looks fairly new and faces the pond, central to the resort.

Yes, the facilities are shared. My review may offer some add'l info for you.

There are indoor waterparks everywhere. I'm sure you'll have a great time and find things to do, regardless of the weather.

The Wilderness Resort is the only one I know of that sells 'day passes'--the others you have to be staying there to use the facilities. There is an outlet mall--downhill skiiing at Cascade through the middle of March depending on when your going. Depending on the ages of those traveling with you it will be a little tougher to find things to do at that time of year. Ho Chunk Casino is nearby. If you have kids along with you--you may want to sign up for a 'tour/stay' at Glacier Canyon/Wilderness Resort as there many amenities there. We stayed at Tamarack 2 yrs ago and used it as a base for skiing at Cascade--there is an indoor pool, small gameroom, basketball/raquetball court. Summer it would be a great base for all the Dells activities. Dawn

The Tamarack puts out a gazette listing the weekly activities. I pulled ours out from this past June 2008. It lists discount vouchers that are available to the Kalahari resort waterpark for $25(from front desk) and discount tickets to the Dells Comedy Club(no price listed). My older kids(19 & 17) found the Family Hypnosis show at the Comedy Club rather entertaining. As a new owner there, I have called the front desk several times over the past months to find out various pieces of information. At all times, I have found them to be very pleasant and helpful; call them to see which activities/discounts they might have for spring break. DawnB

Thank you for all of the insight and helpful information!

I decided that Glacier Canyon would be the best fit for our family. For one thing, the 2Br units sleep 8 having two double beds in the second bedroom. Not that we'll have 8 in each unit, but the youngest (boy and girl) can have their own beds and maybe even bring a friend.

My oldest will be 19 by then and can bring a couple of friends as well. I feel so lucky that the elementary school and college have the same spring break!

We will be able to fit in another week of vacation next year with the money we save by driving.

You will be very pleased with Glacier Canyon. We have stayed there several times and there is alot to do for all age groups. Dawn

Janapur,

I just did the same thing. I purchased Wyndham points for WI Dells and a fall breezy point week because the next couple of years will need to be close to home. Airfare---eek!! I've noticed that you were very knowledgeable about Breezy Point in previous posts. I bought a fixed week 41 (MEA usually falls during this time and I am a teacher.) It is a 3 bedroom lock off Eagles Nest at Whitebirch Unit 922A/923...I think.) If there's anything you could tell me about it, I would appreciate it greatly!

MEA week at Breezy . . . It doesn't get much better than that. Congrats! Please send me a PM so that I can tell you all about Eagle's Nest, as it is a different HOA than the rest. We also own a 3BR lockoff at Eagle's Nest the week before Labor day. Nice purchase, HUGE units! I'd type more, but I'm typing on my cel and very slow. Teenagers can do this with their eyes closed.
