Looking for any tuggers that may be staying at the Barony this week or next. We are here now and thought perhaps we could meet up.

Are you there at Barony next week also? I get in to HH on Sunday, the 10th. I won't be at Barony, but will be right next door at Royal Dunes (it's right across Folly Field Rd. from Barony). Would love to meet up if you're still there.

We will be at Harbor Club next week in Sea Pines, but we will be coming in to the Barony a couple of days on a day pass. Meeting up is a good possibility. Would love to hear about the resort you are staying in also.

There is another couple that we know (also from Jersey) that will be at the Barony beginning Sunday the 10th as well. Let me know when you are settled and we can choose a day and time.

Sounds great! I have only been on TUG about a year and have never met any other TUGgers. I will have my laptop with me and they have wifi in the rooms at Royal Dunes, so I will contact you when I get in and get settled.

I would also love to hear about Harbor Club as I'm thinking about adding it to our Spring Break request in March. I've never been there but I love where it's at - right on the sound and in Sea Pines. I don't have to be right on the beach but I do love a water view!

Beverley: Sounds like you drove down from CT. How many hours did it take you to get there? And did you do it without spending the night (i.e. driving straight thru)?

I will be at Barony Beach starting Aug. 30th. I picked it up exchanging my 1 bedroom week at the Grand Chateau. By the way, I got the exchange calling into the Marriott Desk. I didn't see it when I did an online search.

Sorry we will miss you this year. We leave for Maine on Wed to visit our daughter's family and enjoy the cool air. It is hard to leave the low country but those grandchildren are calling!!!

So sorry Andrea - that's the day we leave. I could've picked up that week at the Barony as a flexchange about a week ago, would've extended my HH vacation another week. But, unfortunately I had promised to look after my oldest daughter's 85-lb. puppy that week while she goes to Disneyland. So home I go on the 17th. :bawl:

I have no problem letting you come and look at the units and see the property as we will be staying there the week you are here. We've seen Island Links but are not familiar with Royal Dunes and would like to do the same if it is alright with you.

See you soon.

Hi,

Yes, we drive down every year from Cheshire, CT which is about 20 minutes North of New Haven on 91. We leave at 3:00 - 3:15 am (I know ... ouch) and drive straight through alternating drivers every 3 - 3.5 hours. We stop and stretch at gas fill ups and eat in the car or grab food at one of our stops. The trip takes between 14.5 and 15 hours doing no more than 5 miles over the speed limit. I mean that ... we do not speed as the limits are high enough. Mostly 65 but then 70 once you get farther South and that is enough for us.

We used to take an over night at Rocky Mount (exit 134 in North Carolina) but stopped it one year to try it out. We so far have been fine with this marathon for about three or four years now. Actually, this year we went to Naples Florida first and took an overnight in Savannah. Savannah is basically the same trip as HHI (15 hours).

Enjoy. :cheer:

Sorry we will miss you too. Can't say I blame you between the gran kids and Maine is a great state. We like it there very much ourselves.

Take care and have a safe trip.

Sorry we'll miss you. I love meeting fellow Tuggers. We'll be checking in on the 17th.

Andrea,

We will still be here, albeit at the Harbor Club. Perhaps we can say hello too.
Will you have a computer with you? If so, put a message out and we can make arrangements.

Beverley.

Andrea,

I noticed you are from Long Island. We are originally from the Island too.

That sounds awesome. Thanks! And no problem coming to see Royal Dunes, too. (Just don't mind the mess that I'm sure we'll have - will be there with my 25-yo DD, my sister, her 10-yo granddaughter, and my 76-yo dad. Hubby will be flying in mid-week to join us, quite a crew.) I'm actually looking forward to seeing it myself since the renovations - haven't stayed there in more than 5 years. We usually stay at Island Links every summer and one of the Marriotts over Xmas break.

We will also be at Barony starting Sunday Aug 10th as my first visit as a new Marriott owner. I will be the one with my wife, two college age daughters and their 3 college aged girlfriends. I will be easilly recognized as the one walking around muttering.."why did I ever let them talk me into bringing all those girls" :)

That is how we started. The mumbling stops after a few more trips year after year :hysterical:

We will be coming in on a couple of the days you are here using our day pass. Love to meet. Will you have your computer with you for tug? We will be staying at the Harbor Club next week. Private message your last name and I'll call ahead when we are coming over to Barony.

Haha- but you're sure to be the most popular guy around. My hubbie always said he loved having daughters- that way, when he came home he knew someone would be happy to see him:) .
