I have been wanting to go and finally was able to book 3 bedrooms in July, woohoo!!

We will be arriving in Denver on Sunday and drive to Breckenridge for about 2 hours. One tip I read was that there is a Costco on the way which we must stop by and on the weekends shelves are empty. We will be cooking for 5 days so grocery shopping is a must on the way.

Any suggestions for a multi-generation family of 6 or more? Kids are under 5 so no need to do active things. It looks like they have heated pools and hot tubs. Any activities, things to do or restaurant suggestions?

There is no need to stop at Costco on the way to Breckenridge. There is a full service City Market (Krogers) and Safeway in Breckenridge. We go every year in August and those supermarkets work out just fine.

There are lots of good restaurants in Breckenridge. I would use TripAdvisor to make your selections.

We especially enjoy hiking and bicycling in the summer months.

If you are coming from low altitude, allow yourself some time to adjust to the high altitude. Would be good if you could spend the night in Denver before going to Breckenridge.

Look at the Breckenridge city website, there are many ideas for summer fun. In the past we have: rented bikes, toured the historical buildings in Frisco, went on a gold mining tour, went to the real South Park (it is a historic town), go to the towns recreation center, attended a summer show, and participated in some of the activities on the slopes. Lots of things for a family to do in the summer. Enjoy your trip.
