Any Platinum VIP's Willing to Hold a Unit?

I'm running short on points in the near term but will have many more in early April once I cancel/rebook a couple of difficult reservations I've made at a discount. I know that once inside the 90 day booking window, I could borrow points from next year for the reservation, but I'm already going to have difficulty using my remaining points for 2012 and don't want to compound that problem.

I would like to book a specific unit in June at Bonnet Creek now, but don't have the available points. I'm fearful the unit won't be available in early April once I am flush with points again and so am asking if there are any Platinum VIPs out there willing to "hold" the unit for me until early April. At that time we could coordinate the timing of your cancellation and my booking of the unit.

Please PM me if willing to help.

Thanks,
Jim

I had a fellow TUGGER do this for me with a different exchange company. It worked out well and eased my mind for three months until I was within the 10 month window and then, as luck would have it I got the unit I wanted without playing the cancel/reserve game. The other person cancelled their reservation, and lost nothing except their time - I was very thankful to them and I hope you have the same luck!

Why couldn't you book a reservation in the 90 day window right now borrowing the points you need from next year, then cancel that reservation to free up the points to book the reservation you are looking to do? Or are you trying to use the cancel/rebook points that you are going to free up next month?

By borrowing from next year, I would add to the excess of points I need to burn in this year because I do plan to cancel/rebook this and other reservations I'm currently holding. Early April is the magic time that I'll have enough points to book the Bonnet Creek stay at full point value. I'll turn around a couple weeks later and get it for half the point value.

All that said, I've stepped back, week by week from my desired checkin date and see that the 3BR unit I'm wanting is available for the select days all the way back to the 60 day window (with the exception of Memorial Day weekend). Maybe I'm being overly cautious and the unit will be there when I finally have the points.

It's for a mini-reunion with 2 other couples and I'd sure hate to lose out on the right size unit if I don't have to :).

Thanks to all for asking the clarifying questions.
