There is a new season 7 out for Doc Martin on Acorn.tv We just got a Roku device today and accessed Acorn.tv for the new Doc Martin series. We watched the first two episodes and I believe the article said another new episode will air each Monday.

In looking through available Doc Martin shows we found a Doc Martin Movie that was made in 2001. It was really good. Martin Clunes still plays Doc Martin, but he's a totally different character than he is in the tv series. The movie plays out in Pt. Isaac, which is Pt. Wenn in the tv series. All the other characters in the movie are different from the familiar characters in the tv series, but they are just as interesting.

Has anyone else seen the movie?

I saw that movie a while ago, on Netflix, I think. I much preferred his personality on the TV series. Our PBS station seems to be way behind - like a season or so, but we are anxiously awaiting his return.

Checked it out, and we have not yet seen season 7 here yet.

Just got back from Port Isaac a few weeks ago. WOW What a great time.

We were lucky enough to stay in the old school house (it is a B&B) in the english room which overlooks the whole town!!

Ate at "the chapel" and had the best meal of our trip It is just down the street from Doc's house and across the lane from were Al's restaurant would be.

Yes, a big Doc Martin fan here. I haven't seen the movie, but I'll be waiting eagerly for the next season.

That sounds so fun! Did you drive yourself there or were you on some type of tour?

Thanks much for the tip. Although we have had the Roku for about a year, we did not know about this channel, nor the new Doc Martin series. Taking the 30 day free trial now!

Hi,
Love this show. I watched the 6 seasons in about 3 weeks in July. Glad to hear that the new season is on Acorn. I think that they have Murdoch Mysteries too. We so miss Murdoch since we moved from Canada.

I like the quirky cast but he is so socially inept its painful to watch sometimes, he's a very good actor. Check him out as Arthur Conan Doyle in the Masterpiece Mystery 3 part series, Arthur and George.

We visited HighClere Castle ( Downton Abbey) then drove to Cornwall Most of the drive was freeway but the last 10 miles were that "just over a car wide" road. Scary!! My DW was white knuckle the whole ten miles.

I'd love to see both places.

Yep. Enjoy the show. He's such a funny looking guy, but so enraptures the towns folk. They just accept his quirks.
