I'm trying desperately to sell my Diamond Resorts TS for my mother, but I'm no expert at this, so look forward to hearing all your thoughts and insights on how I can do this quickest and most efficiently. I contacted GiveBackTimeshare.com, but there is of course a fee involved (not upfront, but still...) and would like to try and do this as quickly and cheaply as possible. Thank you in advance for your help.

She owns a Diamond Resort property on Kauai, Hawaii (THE POINT AT POIPU). She owns an ODD YEAR, week 12, RED season, valued at 5,000 points PLUS separately has 1,000 additional points. They are doing some water intrusion work on the property, so there is a special assessment maintenance fee of $3201.36 ($2,254.70 due 1/1/2012 and $946.66 due 1/1/2013).

I saw the recommendations for giving it away, but given the special assessment fees, I'm not sure what we need to pay to entice buyers and what information exactly I need to provide. GiveBackTimeshare.com has discouraged me saying that NO ONE will bite in this economy, so any advice that could be of assistance is welcome and more than appreciated.

Thank you and Happy Holidays!

My solution

I just sold my Williamsburg Plantation timeshare on Ebay for $455.00. The bidding started at .99. I used Legal Timeshare as closing agents. They charged me $79.00 for their fee and $100.00 for resort transfer. I also offered to pay for closing in the ad. The transaction was completed just in time to avoid 2012 maintenance fees. I also looked into donatingforacuse.org and it was a complete rip off. All the fees amounted to $2,000.00. I also listed on TUG. I had a couple of inquiries but nothing really panned out. If you want to you can private message me and I can guide you through it.

There are 2 on Ebay right now. One has a bid and the other doesn't but they
both have the assessment paid in full and all the closing and transfer fees are
also paid by the seller.
