I've found lots of good places for fishes but not for crabs in HHI. What types of crabs are you looking for- she crabs, steamed blue crabs, crab legs (king or snow), dungenous crabs, soft shell, stone crabs?
Outside of HHI, in Bufton, they have crabbing trips on the May river. You can keep what you catch, but you usually don't catch much. There is a seafood market/factory nearby where you may be able to buy more raw crabs.
There is a shortage of blue male crabs in Virginia and on the east coast...There are plentiful of female crabs in the Commonwealth. But there Is a shortage of crabs. Why?

larger crabs anywhere from new orleans, texas (gulf) and the carolinas are all sent to Maryland where they can go from $99-175 per dozen. I found a few places in the outerbanks were you can get small and medium crabs because the demand and prices for those types in Maryland are in the $30-$60 range so the cost to transport isn't worth it for the supply.
So not sure if there is a shortage just high demand in places where people will pay.
I personally would never pay $99-175 for a dozen of male blue crabs. Now I understand why my local seafood market places, does not have male blue crabs. He was charging $39.00 for a dozen of blue crabs last year. He was buying his crabs from someone in Poquson and York County, Virginia.

Looking for steamed blue crabs and stone crabs. We paid $65/dozen for male medium blue crabs (small was going for $45) and $11/lb for stone crabs in Ocean City last week. I will save the snow crab legs for Captain Georges @Myrtel Beach in August. For some reason stone crabs was much cheaper in OC, I paid about $79/lb when we were at Marco Island couple years ago....
We are in OC, MD now- half way through our 3 week stay and then 3 weeks in Myrtle Beach. We typically go for the $60 medium or the $40 ish small if feeling a little budgety-er. They are a little higher than last year I think they were $34 for small and $54 for medium.
We have gone up to $110 which is $55 per person because 6 of the extra large/jumbo are usually fine.
We usually can find smalls in NC for around $30 or under. There is a place in myrtle that has good steamed crabs but fairly high for small crabs so we are getting our fill now and will get the snow crabs in Myrtle.
