We are in NC, but have family in SC and near ATL. We have been looking at using miles and they want 80,000 miles per ticket...forget it! We have not booked our TS yet because the airfare is so high. Looking at May 5-12..any help out there.

Live in Atlanta and am looking at the same problem for a late May trip. AirTran is finally down to around $350 and I'll probably take that but Delta is still in the $500+ range! And I agree, Delta wants the same ff miles for a Cancun ticket (70K) as it would take to get a free ride to Hawaii, sorry Howie no deal.
After seeing Delta's strong earnings for the quarter, I suspect we'll have to get used to these higher fares. They've finally got the capacity down to levels they can push fares higher and still fill the planes.
We are in Augusta Ga and I have been watching airfare since last August for Cancun and Nassua We booked for Harborside for early May at eight months out ,price hasn't moved so I booked airline on January 19 on Airtran for $345 a ticket (4) .Then on Jan 21 the price went down to $295.I called Airtran and they gave me a $50 credit for each ticket ...This week they went back uo to $325 per ticket ...All the while Cancun was about $10 higher..
The best thing to do is check everyday ...it's a hit or miss ...
Looking for another flight in Oct.,hope prices come down by then...
