Any Bonvoy Ambassador Elite contacted by Marriott Bonvoy seeking their spouses information?

It’s too late in the day to tell if this is spam, fraud, etc.

I’m a Bonvoy Ambassador Elite. My wife is a Bonvoy Platinum Elite. My wife was contacted today, by email, by Marriott Bonvoy, allegedly seeking to confirm her demographic information, to extend (to) her my Ambassador Elite status.

The whole things sounds fishy to me.

Has anyone experienced this?

Marriott appears to have added a new benefit for ‘overachieving’ Ambassadors who spend at least $40,000 in a year – at least it is a benefit for 2024 spend. Ambassadors who spend $40,000 are being invited to extend the same status to a spouse, significant other, or other member of their household.

WOW! I would have never thought Marriott’s inquiry/benefit was legitimate. I went to bed, last night, thinking for sure that it was spam/fraud. I was wrong.

I have to talk to our Concierge about this benefit.
