I've been receiving a ton of junk email lately, and started looking for anti-spam software but there are so many out there. Can you make a suggestion of something that is easy to use and works? (I like freeware if something good is available).

Thanks, John, for the suggestions.

I use both spy bot and adaware on my computer, and together they do a good job with spyware. It's the spam that is overwhelming, so it's antispam software that I'm looking for.

For anyone who is interested, I found the following two review websites after posting my question:

Does it make sense to be running a host of programs when a single program will do it all? Take a look at PC-Cillin Internet Security. It includes:

* the anti-virus program which is better than Norton, McAfee combined
* anti-spyware program
* anti-spam
* anti-fraud
* website blocking
* privacy protection

It also ties into Outlook and other email programs.

All this for the same as you would pay for any one program.

I've been using it for many years and currently receive NO spam. Matter of fact, the security is so tight I have to back off on some of it just to make life a bit easier.

Check with your email server. Many of them today have spam filtering/marking/blocking services available. It could be just a matter of enabling it for your account.

The one at my mail server seems to be very good. I have it set to just mark suspected mail by inserting "[SPAM]" into the beginning of the subject line and send the message on. (As BBS administrator I can't take a chance on some plea for help from a TUGger getting erroneously marked as spam and not delivered.) But I can see that it does a very good job of marking most spam as [SPAM].
