I just discovered this website for discount tickets. There's a new show that I saw last week that I can highly recommend: Avante Garde at the newly refurbished Plaza Hotel on Fremont St. Tickets are available at this website for $22. It's highly entertaining, good for all ages, and the showroom is quite nice.

While at the Plaza Hotel you might want to check out Hash House A Go Go or Oscar's for a meal, too.

Las Vegas visitors might be interested to know about the new Smith Center, which will open this month. Here's some info about some upcoming shows. There will be all kinds of interesting shows in the various venues including Broadway shows including "Wicked."

Wicked is set to visit the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas from August 29 through October 7, 2012. Wicked will be the inaugural Broadway tour to open the Smith PAC and is scheduled to play eight shows per week. Wicked has been Broadway’s number one selling show six years running, and is a guaranteed six-week sellout when it hits Vegas.

When you say all ages, even kids?
We have a big group and kids range from 7-12 yrs old. Looking for fun stuff at night...but Blue Man Group will run over $400 for 4 of us

Yes, it's appropriate for kids and they would enjoy it. I think one of the magicians even picked a kid or two to help with a trick. It's really a delightful show with a lot of new stuff that I'd never seen before. There's something for everyone to enjoy.

Kids would likely enjoy seeing the light show on Fremont St., too.

Do you know what our chances are to get 1/2 price tickets to KA or Zumanity?
Do we need to get KA tickets far in advance or are they usually available if we wait until we are there for the week?

Sorry, I don't really know. You can check the Tix4Tonite website periodically and see if they're showing up.
