Today when I called SurfWatch for room location request I also asked to attached my husband's MR no. to the reservation. The person on the phone said the reservation was in my name and it might cause trouble getting credit. This has never been trouble on past reservations. I'm trying to get most of our nights credited to DH's account this year to keep him Platinum.

Now that we're enrolled in the DC we have new II accounts in each of our names. Before the account was in both names. I manage our accounts so all the requests/deposits/exchanges happen in my account. I even totally forgot DH has a separate log-in. What a bother!

Why did II separate spouse's into 2 accounts? (Now that I'm thinking about this, even Marriott has given us 2 separate owner nos.) Has anyone gotten credit to spouse's MR's account even though exchange went through your account?

I just called Marriott a few days ago to have my husband's MR# attached to an exchange, and mine attached to another exchange, because my name showed up on all the II confirmations and on the Marriott confirmations. (I never use my husband's II account either) When the new Marriott confirmations arrived, his name was on both the one with my MR#, and on the other with his MR#. So she must have changed the name. I did say that we both would be there checking in and she said that would be OK. She never mentioned any problem with credit, just with checking in.

We have not yet had a problem if one name and a different number is attached, but I can see how that could be a problem, so I would just call the resort and ask them to add both names. (they have offered to do this in the past, and you may just need a different person) I will do that for the Summit Watch res with my number and his name. We have changed them when we arrived at the resort as well, but I like having it taken care of ahead of time.

I would add your spouses name when you checkin, this should then make it so there are no problems with the credit. I also think that the system only verifies last name when applying the credit. So if the last name matches the MR number, then it goes through. Of course we have received credit for canceled exchanges where the last name of the person that ended up with the exchange was no where close to ours.

I actually very much like the idea of two accounts. It actually makes it a lot simpler and easier to get the credit in the MR account one wishes.
