Another glitch in the Wyndham online system.....

FYI- Another system glitch is showing fake inventory at Wyndham Royal Vista today. If you search and see inventory that is showing a section or phase name (ie- Sabal Palms or Royal Palms so far), don't waste your time by booking. That is NOT inventory at Royal Vista. It is just another error... Tech has no idea how or why this is occurring- or if it may also be impacting other locations.. And unfortunately, most of the Owner Service dept isn't trained well enough to recognize the various phases at different resorts- so they won't be aware there is a problem if you are booking over the phone. And, also unfortunately, until tech's mgmt team decides they have a solution to the issue (and someone to blame)- I don't think this messaging will be disbursed across departments..

I can't even get the online system to show the resorts! I made the mistake of buying two years ago and haven't managed to take one vacation yet, just keep rolling points over to RCI. This year I thought I would at least attempt to use a Wyndham resort and the online system can't even show me my own points, much less a list of properties. Would be nice if they spent a fraction of the effort they spend selling on actually taking care of their customers.

If you haven't already you really, really need to call owner care and have them get your account set up correctly. If you've already done that and it still isn't right an email to Michael Brown the CEO is in order. That will get you results.

that’s interesting that they are showing inventory named for Marriott resorts in Orlando...

Palm-Aire has sections with those names. It's probably those rather than Marriott.

Ah, OK. Unsurprisingly, none of us are phased by the part about "Tech has no idea how or why this is occurring ", as that is typical for the Wyn website.

Funny .. I hear they ship people over to Palm Air when they have over booking problems at Royal Vista.. so now they go ahead and just list Palm Air as Royal Vista inventory so you know where you’re staying :).

Actually I think those two Palm Air buildings are very nice and up near the main pools. The Queens is more of an odd overflow building though it has its own nice secluded pool.

So... I got 84,000pt from resale a few years ago. I know it is not a lot, but I am single and has a full time job. I was able get online once and booked the first vacation in 2016, but was not able to do so since then. Called numerous times. Today, I was told that unless I buy some points directly from them, i wont be able to use online syetem. Is that true? They also told me that if i buy another 84,000pts, my monthly payment is as low as $59, which make no sense since my MF now is $52. This whole timeshare thing is so confusing and every time I talk to an agent, i felt like I am in some fairyland they make up. I really like the resorts, but dont really have tons of money to throw at them. It always ends up in a fight when I told them that I just want to get a true picture what it cost.

Their math is about right. Canterbury MFs are $3.63 per 1k points.
168,000 Canterbury contract MFs would be:
$3.63 + .64 program fee = $4.27 x 168 [1k points]= $171.36 divided by 12 months is $59.72 a month.
The MFs would be about $64.10 a month due to the minimum program of $160 a year

Wow, that's less than what I am paying. I have Kingsgate, so for 84,000pts, it is $52 a month. So the MF will be $104 a month if i double my points, so I still dont get how I am paying MF and paying off the loan for the extra points with $59 a month.

That won't include your loan payments! Those maintenance fees would only be if they are selling you points at one of the resorts like Canterbury that have the lowest maintenance fees.

That's what I thought... but she insisted that is for the points AND MF, and it is only a 10 year mortgage. =( seriously, they treat me like I dont know grade school maths.

@rscy and @Fiona1 - you both have said you aren't able to access your account online. That doesn't make sense/isn't right. You do not have to buy from Wyndham in order to access your account online, that's hogwash. Are you talking to a VC (that is telling you that)? Have you tried registering for a new login (things changed in May of 2017/new system). Go to myclubwyndham.com, register for a new login, have you done that? If that's not working, some has got to help you, that's crazy you can't access and use your points.

I have made no less than dozens of calls, sent in a written letters and talked to 3 agents in person. I made the last few reservations over the phone, but it is a pain to the point that i am definitely closer to just give up my points than getting more..

Call and ask to speak to someone in Owner Care who can assist you in getting your online log in set up.

How frustrating for you.

Have you tried contacting Michael Brown's office? I think that would be my next email. When we first converted to the new system in May 2017 people had login issues, I hadn't heard of any recently. Hard to believe they can't fix your account! I believe it, but how incredibly frustrating.

I had a similar scenario. Different issue, but someone getting back to me every so often, religiously, calling or emailing for about 1.5 years. It got passed through several people. And then one day I got an email they were closing the case, but to be assured they knew what the issue was and they would get it fixed after May 18, 2020, when all my credit pool points expired. I know that is not your issue, but just shows how crazy slow things can move with Wyndham. I have another issue (with owners) that's been going on for years, with an open ticket and minimal communication.

I definitely would not recommend adding more points. That sounds like sales talk to me. I don't believe for a second buying more points is going to fix your problem.

I hope you can find someone to help you. Minimally you can post here to make sure you aren't being fed more misinformation. Best of luck to you!

My response would be, "Unless you can give me a reason why my issue would take anywhere close to 21 days to fix, I am not ok with that timeframe. At least tell me the cause of my issue, or escalate it"

As another @Sandi Bo mentioned, when the new site went live, everyone had to register a new account. Have you tried that? I've heard rare instances where people would register a new account if theirs stopped working, with a new email address.

My username was the one that had issues when the new website when live in May 2017. My husband's and son's were fine. I had three that quit working and they finally told me that they were just going to wait until until the other issues were resolved with the new system and our account to try again to set one up for me.

Are there other names on your account that you could set up usernames and log ins for? Or have you and Owner Care tried and that doesn't work either?

I hope your new log in makes it through the updates they're doing right now. It was announced that starting midnight last night the system would be down for updates. If you can still log in with it when the system comes back up you shouldn't have any more problems being able to log in.
