I can't believe I bought another one on Ebay! This is very addictive! I think I did pretty good:

I got a 2 bdrm Wyndham Newport Onshore, fixed week 18 (I know it's a shoulder week - beginning of May - but it is still a Red week) for $1 plus $450 in closing/transfer costs!

Whoever listed it had the auction ending at 5:30 AM (in the morning!) I logged on this morning & it had no bids.

MF's are high at $790, but I could always rent it out if we don't use it...Anyone else had any experience renting Onshore? What's the going rate for shoulder weeks?

I have too many weeks now...so I guess I'll be getting rid of one of my others soon. Now I have to choose which one, :(

If you bought it to personally use and love going to Newport every year in the beginning of May, then fine. If you bought it to rent out, than maybe not so fine. I'd be very concerned about the ability to rent out the week for enough to cover the maintenace fees. You might not be able to rent out the week at all. Also, keep in mind the possibility that you may have great difficulty down the road selling or giving away this timeshare.

I tend to agree. I think trying to cover the maintenance fees by renting may not be so easy.

I don't know about week 18, that's too early for most people. Rhode Il resorts rent well in mid summer but fall weeks are sometimes available as II Getaways for less than the M/T fees.

Thanks for the responses...I will be using most of the time, so Iam not too worried about renting it out. I was mostly just curious. I still am happy with the purchase price I got!

Freewheelin, enjoy your new purchase!
If you use it most of the time, it would be no problem and it's the great price!
